Hi,
I just got myself the spitfire and took it for a spin, had some fun with some loops and rolls, but then found I lost rpm, couldn’t get back to the airport, and crashed into a field. I’m guessing my aerobatics messed up something with the fuel flow? Or is it just a bug?
Here is the video in all it’s horror: Spitfire test flight and crash investigation, FS2020 - YouTube . I noticed the problem 6 minutes and 40 seconds in, and was dead less than three minutes later.

Moved to #third-party-addon-discussion:aircraft since the sim doesn’t have a stock Supermarine Spitfire.
Since the last update you can blow the engine by giving too much boost. But there is no oilspill on the windshield like on the Corsair. You just loose power. As far as I can remember a constant boost of more than 6 blows the engine after a few minutes. Boost over 9 kills the engine really fast. The limits are mentioned in the manual.
Due to external view I can’t watch your instruments but it looks like you’ve pushed the throttle pretty good.

Yep, full throttle most of time. If that’s the cause then good to know this spitfire is study level and not like the typhoon I wasted money on.

3000 rpm continuous and probably too much MP. Overheated either the oil or coolant.

There was also the problem of the landing gear not going down - likely due to blown engine too?
The Spitfire also requires fuel pressurisation above a certain altitude or it evaporates.
(The fuel evaporates, not the Spitfire)
