Good day,

Another pilot, another VA startup! A little about me first.

My name is Gary Eidsmoe, I am 43 and live in Oregon. I produce local TV commercials full time, and fly as much as possible in my off time. I started a small VA back in the late 90’s (I was 17 when I started it) called SoCal Airways. You can still find some of our planes at flightsim.com for FS98. I also controlled for several years on VATSIM which is a community I’ll always love. I eventually stepped away from flight sim for many years to “find myself”. EMT, Game Tester, Videographer… Time passes… MSFS 2020 releases and BOOOM… it brought me back super quick, and I’ve already spent more money than I care to admit on my own home cockpit. It’s been great. I started flying for a couple of VA’s and and it brought back the passion of wanting to start something of my own and bring it to life.

I am in the early stages of launching a virtual airline. This airline will be focus primarily on Corporate Charter flights to start. Single & Twin Turboprops and Business Jets with one East Coast and one West Coast HUB to begin. I have the name and the website is being worked on.

There are still some technical things I am working on, which VA system to use for instance. But I am thinking smartCARS 3.

Here are some roles I’d love to have some assistance with.

  • Website/smartCARS Assistant
    This is all brand new to me and I a currently researching… but there is a lot that will initially go over my head. Anyone willing to work with me to set this up would be valued!!!

  • Assistant Management
    Helps me overall decisions regarding the VA as a whole.

  • Fleet Manager
    Maintains Fleet. Painting skills a bonus, but not required.

  • Operations Manager low priority
    Assists all crew with any support needs as well as some flight dispatching duties.

Good day all,

Just a quick update. The VA will be called SplitJet. Website along with smartCARS & phpVMS will begin to be setup this weekend.

I would LOVE to find someone interested in aircraft painting. I am already a little overwhelmed with learning and understanding the phpVMS system. This would not be an overwhelming task, I’m trying to think simple and only starting with 3 to 4 planes.
