Spoilers

Has anyone been able to get the spoilers to go down using any key binding or joystick button or are we just suppose to live with this and do it manually using the mouse? This should have been fixed in the hotfix and is not acceptable Asobo.

Once again, it just feels like “they” are too busy approving STUFF for the $$MarketPlace$$ rather than fix core program errors , glitches and malfunctions.

Yes, “spoiler_toggle” key binding stopped working after Su5.
You have to use “Spoiler_increase” and “Spoiler_decrease”, … 2 buttons instead of one.
… yes I know, not great but it seems that it is all we getting for now.

I do agree with you that it is not acceptable , because it used to work just fine before!

I’ll give it a shot.

Spoiler axis bind to an analogic lever works perfectly.

To go down after landing couldn’t I just bind it to retract? I mean for now.

Spoilers on an axis are the best solution. It makes it easy to control speed during descents. Just lift the spoilers to about 10% and you’ll get a little extra drag without destroying lift.

As far as landing is concerned, I find that, provided they’re armed, the spoilers deploy with reverse thrust, and go down when back at idle.

I’ve tried it with the A320 and the Dreamo.

I have the same problem :frowning:

I’m curious as to how they go down automatically IRL. Anyone know? They seem to only go down if I apply manual brakes until the autobrake light goes out.

Goto fly away simulation and download the free keyboard chart on MSFS. It shows exactly what key work what controls. You can bind a button on JS, or the HC-Bravo Throttle Quadrant has a lever, bindable, and you can also arm them, although have not been able to got that to work in MSFS. Works fine in FSX, hmmm, better software because it dont’ keep changing every update.

Sure you can if it works… Just try it.

I can tell you for the Carenado M20R Ovation, which has spoilers, that the toggle binding stopped working after SU5. The up/down binding was the solution. However a couple days ago Carenado updated the airplane to fix a bunch of things that broke in SU5.

I’m telling you this because now the toggle binding works again in the Mooney. As a result I don’t think the issue is with the sim code. The binding is not broken. Obviously the underlying code base changed with SU5 and the fix is that the aircraft need an update to make it work with the new base code.

Makes sense.

The WTCJ4 spoilers stopped working and still do not work.

The numeric / key used to work as the spoilers toggle.

It is still bound in the keyboard profile. But does not work now.

Edit:
After reading this Topic, I decided to program the Spoilers to:
Extend = keyboard F10
Retract = keyboard F9

They work but the keyboard num / toggle still doesn’t.

Thanks for the info.

Now, I can slow the WTCJ4 down on approach.

Mine work fine; are pegged to a lever on the Honeycomb Bravo…

Has anyone reported this bug to Zen desk?

Now I know why the Peix PFD has been giving me the Spoiler Extended warning recently. I thought it was my fault…

If it isn’t for ATC reasons, using the boards to slow down is an indication for bad descent planning :wink:

I have the Spoiler Axis mapped on my bravo for jets. I also have a toggle switch mapped for the spoilers on the Mooney.

I’m at work, so I can’t check to see exactly what the bindings are called.

What’s your hardware that controls the spoilers? If you are using a spoiler axis, it’s going to be difficult, including for spoilers deployment as well. This is because spoilers axis are overriding the spoilers commands. So from my experience, if you have a spoiler axis sitting at retracted position and you arm the spoilers, when landing the spoilers never deploy because as soon as it starts to deploy, it’s reading the position of your spoilers axis in retracted position and proceeds to treat it as a valid input and retracts the spoilers.

If you already have digital keybindings to deploy the spoilers, you can also bind the auto-spoiler arming to the Toggle Arm Auto-Spoilers. You press it once to toggle it on to arm. And you press the same button again to toggle it to off.
