Hello! I’m one of the rare people who hasn’t had many issues with this game and I’m loving it. I have over 4000 hours in XPlane 11, and yes there is still some stuff to be worked out but I really love the game.
At the moment I pay for Game Pass, I have done for the last year and will continue to for the forseeable future, so I get the Standard Edition, but what I wanted to ask is it worth paying the extra £110 to grab the Premium Deluxe Edition?
Are the planes and hand crafted airports worth £110? Whats your fav aircraft? Please try and persuade me to spend £110 haha!
Also has anyone upgraded from GamePass => Premium Deluxe Before? Was it seemless? I guess I don’t have to re-install the game or anything stupid?

The airports are the airports. You either fly around them or your don’t. Purely your choice.
Aircraft is slightly different in you look at what you fly most and see what fits your style.
In my case I wanted 4 of the planes and 1 of the airports in the Delux version. I had 0 need for any of the aircraft or aiports in the PD version. I went with just the delux.
If you fly a lot of GA the Skyhawk is almost worth the difference by itself as there aren’t many other options out there right now.
It’s very subjective.
I’m very pleased with the premium deluxe version and I’ve spent a lot of time in the Shock Ultra and the Cessna 152 Aerobat. Considering I would often spend upwards of £40 for a decent GA pay ware aircraft, and that by upgrading I get 10 extra aircraft and 10 hand-crafted airports, I would say that yes, for me, it’s been worth it.
I wouldn’t consider the 787 in your assessment of value. In my opinion the real value is in the scenery and the smaller GA aircraft that you get. The airliners left me with much to be desired.
For me personally it was worth it but I had a little bit of extra money and wanted to more than anything support MSFS 2020. I have not flown any aircraft other than the 172 atm and I bought it from steam so not sure about Game pass. Either way I would say if you have that many hours in X-plane then you know about simming and I would say yes if you have the extra money buy it now. But it will take some time I think for them to work out some of the core bugs.
Hex post is spot on.
The Skyhawk is awesome Yetty

Unless you really want to support MS, Asobo, and really want some of those aircraft and airports, I personally don’t think it’s really worth the price, I’m waiting for 3rd party developers like PMDG/A2A to start releasing their own stuff, so i’m saving money to buy their aircraft and other potential addons in the future.
Yeah, it really is a personal, subjective thing, with no right or wrong answer. On the surface, the few extra aircraft and airports do not seem to justify the price differences, but then the absolute amounts are small for most people, and 3rd party DLC for aircraft and airports is not all that cheap. I have a bad habit of always buying the top range of everything because I am psychologicaly deficient as my wife says! But in this case I really wanted the Cirrus and the Dreamliner. Don’t agonise about it - if you can afford it, go for it! Cheers.
For me there was no big choice, as my homebase Frankfurt is only in the Premium Deluxe version.
Except for the dreamliner I see no big need for that version airplane-wise.
In my opinion you need to check if you really NEED one of the 10 extra airports.
Frankfurt is really done well in that version, so I really had not the choice
I brought the standard version to see. Cause it’s my first time buying MSFS. O plus in standard version I got my favorite home base airports JFK,LGA and TJSJ.
I bought the Premium Deluxe!
£109 is a lot of money from £1 a month haha. But I really enjoy the sim, I know I’ll spend hours in it and I feel its worth it in my books. Also if I ever stop my £1 a month subscription I can keep the game ^-^
@Yetty5997 You only get the 1st month as a new subscriber for $1. Subsequent months are $4.99.
