This is related to Antialiasing. Turn off AA, and it goes back to normal. MSFS2020 does not have this issue.
Interesting. Whatever the cause, it would sure be good if this was fixed prior to SU4 release. It is quite noticeable when flying at night.
Not sure if this is same issue but I notice similar left eye/right eye discrepancy in that there is a definite middle band of shimmering of lit objects in right eye that is not present in left eye. (PCL, 5090) Does not occur in FS2020. Most noticeable at night but still seen slightly during day. Appears on side of vertical lamp posts for example nighttime airport lighting.
As described above, I think it associated with AA and I have tried a number of variations of AA settings (off in sim, on in Nvidia settings, off nvidia on in sim, TAA vs DLSS etc., foveated rendering on/off) Unable to eliminate or reduce effect.
Further testing indicates the top half rendering of the right eye does not appear to be utilising any AA as the edges appear to be saw-tooth jagged. The bottom half seems to be ok. Most obvious for distant objects but confined to edge of closer objects. The main menu screen does not exhibit sawtooth edges, only in the running render. The rendering of the moon is affected- the right edge shimmering as do right edge of light poles. Turning off local light dimming in the PCL has no effect.
I noticed the stars “disappearing” but concluded it is due to the intensity in the right eye is diminished, as many of the brighter objects are still visible but at much lower intensity.
Yep, I have the more right blurry-greyed and many months ago (HP G2) in the night, maybe since beginning of FS24, but, I remember months ago to solve it starting the flight in the day and then slider the settings to the night, but this not work no, trying yesterday, maybe testing more.
FS24 is better in day-night, even with this SU4, performance is better than FS20, but this things plus others remain me in FS20, and I think the yellow-bright night cities lighting have been fixed?, thanks.
And please please, unencrypt those MS-Asobo aircraft like the F-18 and let modders repair/improve it, please.
Edit: even the moon in the day have some problem.
