I uninstalled 2024 yesterday, deleted everything left in the associated Steam and User directories, then reinstalled 2024. Since then, touch wood, I have had no occurrences of a missing startup button with about 10 starts whereas before it would happen more often than not. It only takes about 15 minutes for such a clean reinstall and all my setting, controller bindings and career status remained intact, so it’s worth a try.
I did a reinstallation as well and Its all the same! Still loading stops between 50 and 70 percent and very often no start button!
A workaround that worked for a user was to delete the “CloudSaves”.
Caution prior doing that: you’ll lost all your stats/settings.
Same issue. Sometimes this happens and only solution is to restart the flight.

It has been 5 days since I did a full clean reinstall of MSFS 2024 and with 50+ startups not once has the start button been missing whereas it was happening more often than not beforehand.
I therefore strongly recommend a full clean reinstall of MSFS 2024 and by clean I mean uninstall it first then go into your user’s roaming folder and delete any remnant of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in there. For Steam, this folder will be %appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and for MS Store this folder is %appdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache. Then reinstall.
I too have not seen this at all since probably update 2
its strange… i have this issue only, when i ad an mod in the communtiy folder, since the last patch…

Started happening to me too. First time yesterday, again just now. Been playing with no issues (with this particular thing) for two weeks now and suddenly it’s 2/3 attempts
Same here. If I restart the game a couple of times, it loads eventually.
Got it again after some (few) weeks of absence:

Restarted sim does not help
EDIT: doesn’t make a difference if sth is in the community folder or not.
What has been similar to the last time it came up was, that it was on the first start the next day.
I haven’t had touched my sim for two days now, now the issue came up.
Last time it was also after one day no flight.
Maybe sth is with XBox Account sync or whatever?

here’s a similar issue… exit from free flight into main menu and all the buttons are gone except quit & release notes
So has anyone who has recently experienced this issue done what I suggested here "Start" button sometimes doesn't appear after loading is complete - #28 by ResetXPDR and it is still doing it?
If not, give it a go. It takes 15 minutes to reinstall and all your settings, profile and career stats remain intact.
Yes, I did just that and it has recovered with settings intact. Not something I would want to do often, however it worked.
PS. Ran MSFS2020 for 4 years and never had to re-install!

Given this only happens like maybe 5% of the time, very intermittent, doing anything like that is pointless because it will pretty much always work on the next startup anyway. So I would have no way of knowing if that did anything.
Well more than a week now since my reinstall, and it hasn’t happened again with now 70+ startups, so thought it might be worth trying for others once.

Normally its intermittently. Usually I just close the sim and reopen it. However today it has been every time I open the sim
