For slew controls, see the Options → Controls → Search for “Slew” actions
Having said all that: Yes, it would be nice to be able to start C&D. Especially since they now got their slogan to “Land anywhere” it should also be “Take-off anywhere”

Just have some options when you click on the world map - “Altitude”, “Cold & Dark/Hot & Running” - this way we can spawn in anywhere at any (reasonable) altitude in either condition. I should be able to spawn-in on the sea anywhere in a sea-plane etc No doubt we will have a helicopter soon with floaties on the runners so we can do air-sea pickups etc.

DaveJK9173, I am on worldmap right now, I planned a VFR route from a seaport to another seaport ,then,if I click “Navlog” I can set “altitude” but I don’t see any
“Cold & Dark/Hot & Running” . What am I doing wrong?

There are an extremely small number of parking places at Seaplane Bases, so if you could spawn on the water (or ground) anywhere it would over this glaring deficiency. If you have a seaplane or float plane you really need places where you can start from C&D.
When you land at an airport or on the grass wherever you like,press “esc” and SAVE the file .
Then,on a later moment, from the Worldmap ,you resume this saved file . You will start from the exact point you left the plane before.Thus,the drop-down menu ,on the top side of the screen,won’t be activated.
I’d like to be able to spawn at a lake or reservoir chosen by clicking on the map, i dont want to have to fly there first, land, shut down then save game. I want to go exploring the fjords and inlets where some of the most spectacular landscapes are found.
With the multiplication of helicopters and floatplanes, it’d be very nice to be able to start a flight outside of an airfield at surface level and not at 1500 ´ above ground and have to slew down. Awkward !

Agree! This is a necessity, especially with float planes, seaplanes, helicopters, etc.
Would love to be able to start a flight cold and dark in the exact spot I last landed and closed the simulator
You could start where you wanted in previous versions using the map if I remember correctly (fs9,fsx ,maybe even earlier?),so it surely can be done in msfs,can’t remember if you could do cold dark though.
there is a workaround for this.
i use flight recorder available from flightsim.to if i know i want to start from a place i cant select from world map i land and shut down then using flight recorder i just record 10 seconds then stop and save it.
when i want to start again i load into a nearby parking spot at an airport then load the saved flight and hit replay this will move me to exactly where i was when i recorded it in the same state so if i recorded while shut down the replay will be shut down ( this works great for helicopters when you may land in the middle of a field)
well thanks for the tip but I’d better have a solution where I don’t have to stand on one leg and wiggle my ears if you catch my drift . What about pointing to a place on the World map, select departure, select at ground level et voilà ?
well yes i agree but we cant can we? my workaround isn’t perfect but at least it enables you to continue a flight if in a place you cant select
