State of the Baron G58

So as some premium deluxe owners know, the Baron G58 has some issues that affect its overall performance, notably the extremely overpowered engines (2.5k fpm climb on takeoff wow…), mixture controls not working at all (behave only as “on-off” switch), various flight parameters requiring tweaks, including flight drag from landing gear, cowl flaps, flaps, etc.
As of the last update for 2020, (sim update II), I have noticed that various files in the aircraft directory have been tweaked, with newer file dates.
With that being said, unfortunately, the bugs I noted above are still affecting the aircraft. The aircraft does feel a little better, minus the absurdly overpowered engines, however its clear it is being tweaked. If anybody has any intricate info, please chime in. Im not a real world pilot so my feelings are likely not going to be realistic.

Depends on altitude and weight.
At low weight and at SL the real Baron climbs at max cont. power at 2700fpm.

Can that performance be achieved at an altitude of 6-7,000 feet? I was testing it at Jackson Hole and I definitely felt something was off. Then again, Im assuming it has an always on automixture issue so Im guessing that engine performance was at its most efficient.

No. Even at minimum weight the ROC is less than 2000ft/min at this altitude.

Interesting, very useful insight. I have to wonder what it will take to improve that by mod. Ive been thinking of trying to play around with some parameters for some airplanes.

ILS on nav 1 on my g58 is indicating but if I select approach nothing happens. When tuning on nav 2 and switching the CDI also to 2 I can select approach and the autopilot will fly the ILS ok.

Only me or more of you having the same issue?

Interesting. I can check and see if its happening too. Standby
