Guys, what is the logic MSFS uses when placing static planes at airports? To me it seems totally illogical. For example I just got the Kodiak, and now I see it dominating all GA airports I fly out of. Hardly any 172’s or pipers or cirrus or, you know, common GA planes.
No King Airs or Diamonds or Cubs.
I don’t mind seeing a Kodiak every now or than, but it and the BN-2 Islander are EVERYWHERE.
Anyone 1) know what the logic is here? and 2) know if a way to modify the probability of seeing certain planes?
Besides a deinstall of the plane (which obviously you don’t want) there are only three solutions to this of which I am aware, but maybe there are others that others could chime in with.
Change the “isairtraffic = 1” option in the aircraft.cfg to 0, which works if there is an aircraft.cfg file. If not, you have to create one, which I did with the Velociraptor or whatever that thing is called.
Use the SDK to fill the parking spots with other aircraft, and/or use Airport Design Editor to remove some of the parking spots.
I guess you could use the AIG software to fill the parking spots with other planes, but I’m not sure what logic it uses.
Thanks for the reply. I think the problem with #1 is then you’ll never see it. I simply want to reduce the probability of seeing it.
Like sure there may be a Kodiak at this airport but it’s only a 5% chance while a 172 has a 95% chance. Feel like that would make things much more realistic with a pretty simply implementtion.
However like with all things Asobo I’m sure it’s not that simple…
Check your general options under Traffic. At the bottom there is a Traffic Variety setting. Changing this to ULTRA will increase the variety of aircrafts and liveries to randomly put on the airport.
