Status lights on buttons not turn the indicator light on/off

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
The lights that indicate whether a button was pressed or not do not light up.

Applies to the overhead, radio panels, center pedestal, etc.

Setting ANNT LT to TEST or DIM, and back to BRT works as a workaround to fix the problem.

No. And not prior to 1.5.21

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
All Airbus family

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Issue started after updating to SU3 1.5.21, the issue wasn’t present whilst using previous build. Problem is present in the Inibuilds A321 and A320, I haven’t tried the A330. The word “OFF” is still visible after button is pressed (crew supply, all X-feed buttons), External power still shows “avail” even after pressing (should say ON), Ground Control doesn’t show “ON”, etc. Tried the workaround suggested but no luck on my end.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I am on xbox, not an issue that can be overlooked or ignored. At this point I think I will revert to SU2 until the issue is resolved. Thanks for posting OP.

It’s incredible how they manage to make the update unplayable every time, and always for different reasons. The key lights on the Airbuses don’t work and it’s impossible to change input from lock to legacy, but how do they do it every time? Open the simulator and after 1 minute you’re already on the forums or on YouTube looking for solutions, it’s becoming unbearable.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• a specific example would be this default CJ4. Pressing seat belts or no smoking button and the indicator does not illuminate. You hear the chime to indicate the button action has been taken but no illumination. This wasn’t the case prior to .21 version so a regression.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

status lights did not work first. later on when i entered the runway they suddenly worked

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• yes on the A321

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• all lights on the EFB are not working are going off all lights stay on white even tho i click it are if i click a new button if dose not come on overhead and lowers

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• sadly not i can get on

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, and is not only the airbus family, pretty much all planes i tried have the same issue.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Indicator light on buttons don’t work when you click on it, they seems to work if you bind it to a key on pherifericals, after a while the lights come on, eventually
Have that issue in all Airbus family, atr and citation cj4 (planes i tested so far)

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Also having the same problem in the inibuilds a350

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Overhead buttons on iniBuilds Airbuses (so far A320neo V2, A321LR, and payware A350-900 have been tested) behave strangely. They do not consistently respond to pushes (though the push is modeled visually and the tooltip will toggle between OFF and ON states, etc.).

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?

No

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

  • A320neo V2
  • A321LR
  • A350-900
  • I expect this affects all iniBuilds Airbuses but haven’t tested extensively

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Select an iniBuilds Airbus
  2. Spawn cold & dark
  3. Turn on batteries on overhead
  4. Attempt to turn on external power
  5. Observe external power appears on but the button never changes state from AVAIL to ON
  6. Attempt to turn off batteries
  7. Observe battery buttons never change state from on (blank) to OFF
  8. Repeat for most, if not all, overhead controls

I was not able to replicate this yesterday when I first saw reports about this in the general SU3 Beta discussion thread. I tested the A320neo v2 and the A321LR.

I wonder if this has anything to do with use of tooltips and/or whatever interface option it is that causes controls to highlight blue when hovered over? I don’t use either of those and have not experienced this problem.

Could be that, but i think you only able to turn the blue highlight off if you use mouse, when using controller and pherifericals you can’t turn off unfortunately…

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes, on the FBW A380-800

• Fenix aircraft don’t seems to have the same issue

I’m having the same issue in all airliners . The workaround you suggest doesn’t work for me , they all illuminated no matter what you do , or don’t come on.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue: upper panel lights are not working in all airliners . X box series X .

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

It has absolutely nothing to do with tooltips . All it’s all aircraft even with tooltips off .

Well, not for me, which is why I’m trying to help figure out what might be the difference.

That said, looks like Asobo is aware:

https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/after-last-nights-su3-beta-update-many-systems-on-my-new-release-are-broken/15045

If it’s tied to emissives I wonder if it is also performing differently based on one or more graphics settings - like when the displays on the iniBuilds airbuses broke last December but only if you had Texture Resolution on Low or Medium.

Could be - I also think it might be related to whether or not you have the control interactions set to highlight blue when you hover over them. I do not have any kind of setting like that active, nor am I using tooltips, and as I tested the A321LR again tonight, the button/switch emissives work fine for me.

Hmm, as far as I know, that setting isn’t toggleable in the sim. I know there was a mod for it in 2020 but didn’t think it worked in 2024. Unless you just mean the tooltips? Ah, or maybe it has to do with the interaction type - I’m remembering now that those may be connected.

I believe it’s “interaction type” (not sure what it’s called, nor where in the sim menus it’s located off-hand)

I often turn those features on when I’m learning a new plane but find both to be immersion-breaking and even a bit off-putting in a plane I fly a lot. As I’ve been mostly flying planes I have learned well (PMDG’s 777s, the superb and under-appreciated Grumman Albatross, and Black Square’s amazing Starship), I’ve got them both turned off presently.
