Steam Gauge 172/182?

Perhaps we will get exactly that. One of each type to push/prove Accusim 2.0. They also said I think that P3D was done in terms of dev so they may also want to revive some of those aircraft for MSFS.

Time will tell.

That would be great! The P47, AT-6, Piper Cub, Iā€˜d be happy

Just shows how we are all different. Warbirds are just not my thing. I have zero interest in any of those and would much rather have the Aerostar. The Comanche was the obvious first choice for A2A but what next is the burning question.

Yup, doesnā€˜t have to be a warbird, I just love Radials and the Accusim versions were simply amazing  the Aerostar is my current favourite to come as well

The default DHC 2 beaver is steam gauge with different nav radio/gps options, it’s pretty nice to fly

You sound like someone who values other people’s opinions and doesn’t stick to dogma. So I guess Speaker of the House is definitely not in your future

I think so, if they’re doing 2 planes a year, we’ll probably get their next offering in Q2 2024. I imagine the new MSFS will probably come out Q3 or Q4

My Reims Rocket mod will have its glass cockpit replaced with a gauges cockpit soon

But nothing to be compared with WBsim or A2A

from what I saw in an interview, they are expecting to be able to release about 2 planes per year, now that the core work on accusim, and the learning curve with the Comanche are behind them. So yes, I would expect 1 or 2 more

In answer to your original question, the WB-Sim 172SP is your answer. There are some excellent twins and complex singles, but the 172 as modified by @WeptBurrito2749 has everything you need.

WBSim 172. It’s the only one I fly, but it might be based on the Premium Deluxe C172?

You mentioning WB-SIm and A2A in the same sentence, is praise indeed (for both Developers  )

How about an analog Reims Rocket mod FOR the WBSim C172?

Yeah I was refering to the quality they provide in their products, I’m an humble amateur

Have you considered using FSX instead?

Have you considered not posting instead?

For those talking about the 182 RG did they ever fix the hobbs meter? It reads completely wrong last I knew - which was admittedly quite a while ago. It showed 1/100th hours on the rollers but only counts in 1/10th. I’d buy it if I knew for sure they fixed that. Small to most probably, but would bug the heck out of me.

You’re absolutely right that newer is better - and typically safer. However, I’m a private pilot working on my instrument rating. The planes I rent tend to have a mix of steam gauges and glass, but mostly steam (alt., VSI, turn coordinator and DG). So I want to sim with the closest thing to what I’ll be taking my checkride in. Plus, VORs/NDB can be a backup if the GPS fails. That’s the basis of my particular interest in steam gauges. That said, I did just buy a glass cockpit transition course.
