I bought one of the upgrade packages but the steam gauge 172 is not showing up in the aircraft selections. Am I missing something?
Can you check the Content Manager (profile page of MSFS) to see if you have any updates waiting.

I went through and updated everything yesterday, still nothing.
I’m guessing you bought the upgrade in the Microsoft store?
If so, might need to open a trouble ticket with them.
Did you download the base-files of the 172 in the section Not Downloaded? If you buy content, you have to download it after your purchase
Which upgrade package did you purchase? The C172 “Classic” (Steam Gauge) is included in the Deluxe package.
Go to Profile > Content Manager
Then check under the Not Installed heading; the C172 Classic may be hiding in there…
