Still cannot open the game after resolving the gaming services issues other have encountered

Brief description of the issue:Can’t even get to the loading screen on MSFS. Just get a message stating "FlightSimulator.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you is a solution is available.

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:Started witht he gaming services others have mentioned, managed to resolve that by deleting and reinstalling it via powershell script I found. Have since completed all available windows and MS Store updates but still faced with the generic stopped working message for the past 2 days.

Yes, it turned out it was my firewall causing the issue. I now need to switch off my firewall when first opening the game. Once at the checking for updates page I can switch my firewall back on and it loads and runs fine then.

Was this after the recent update? I have been running the game, somewhat successfully–until the most recent update. I’ve already did the firewall thingy, but I still get the “FlightSimulator.exe has stopped working…” error.

No, this was from a few updates ago. To be fair my experience of this latest upgrade has been very positive but noticed a lot of people on groups struggling. Try asking or looking on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (Asobo Studio) group on Facebook. Lots of cleaver people on there who helped me resolve my issues at the time
