That’s probably because your mouse cursor is over a Garmin screen or toolbar window, this regression from SU7 has still not been fully fixed SU8.

Unless I’m missing something, devs - can we please get a keybind to be able to zoom in while looking out of the cockpit windows? So that I can see more detail in the distance?

So … I can’t recall this ever working in VR - at the very least since SU5 or SU6.

I am currently using the SU10 beta. None of the zoom related keys (mouse or keyboard) do anything. I have tried remapping them but they still don’t work.

Note: these mappings work fine in non VR
Note 2: I confirmed my Home Cockpit Mode was off
Note 3: a previous post mentioned turning off Interior Cockpit Mode - which doesn’t seem to exist.

I would like to express my support for this feature request

FS2020 is a great VR-VFR experience but is still limited by current generation headset resolution. ‘VR zoom’ could be a quick and clean feature to overcome this limitation.

From what I read in this (and another) thread on the topic, it appears that the proponents of the “it’s-all-fine-just-set-it-up-properly” position are not aware that zooming in on something is not the same as getting closer to it. “VR - Cockpit Focus” is nice for inside the Cockpit, but does nothing to overcome the limitation for out-of-cockpit-view.

And because I know someone will bring it up: Yes, with modern rendering engines there’s more to it than a simple change in FOV. LOD settings are affected, parallax issues, shaders, VR sickness,… I know. But other sims have pulled it off and it added A LOT to overcoming the resolution limitation.

Most of all: It would help those who want to use it, but it would leave all others unaffected

I was flying over Rome a few minutes ago and was just thinking, it would be nice if I could zoom and see St Peters Basicalla a bit closer, and the Coliseum as well
