Still Stutters and poor FPS after the 1.14.6.0 Update!

I did a flight today from Zurich to EDDK. Started at Zurich with micro stutters but they were fine, at some point during the cruise, the fps with the stutter went from 30ish to 50fps and super smooth. Starting decent to EDDK and the micro stutter came back slowly and the more I was closer to the ground, the more stuttery it gets. During landing, it became super stuttery with crushing the fps to 10. Very odd, after landing, if I reload the plane from the dev menu, the FPS bounce back to 40 and stutters disappear.
That is really confusing indeed

i just had a flight in Miami.Man..this was a complete @@show !! Stutters and stutters while approaching airports which are many there.
I have online traffic to off and ai traffic to minimum like 11 just in case.
Nothing works.
I bought the 6800xt Nitro+ for 4K MFS and all i got has nothing to do with the product i bought.
Fun fact is that when i bought it i still had the 5700xt nitro+ and was well in 1080p

FIX THE SIM Asobo !
If you can’t make it,THEN DON’T !

EDIT 28/4/2021
The stutters were due to flying at 3.500ft at 410KTS with the F15 which the sim can’t yet support( high speeds)
With other planes all are fine

Similar experience to mine and yet I don’t get it, some claim that sim runs smooth and some like us suffering from stutters and dropping in the FPS to the bottom

OK. For me things are running much better with this new update. My FPS are now staying around 30-45 FPS with everything set at Ultra on a 4K system. I was still getting some stuttering though. Then I thought about something. Where is my rolling cache file located? I have FS2020 installed on a separate 1TB SSD drive. I had recently wiped and re-installed the sim. But I didn’t change the location of my rolling cache file. It was still on my C: drive which I only use for the OS. So I deleted it and changed the location on my SSD drive that has MSFS installed. Low and be-hold, the stuttering is now gone. Smooth again. I personally use a rolling cache limit for my system of 100GB.

I just wanted to post this, in case it helps someone else.

So far, it seems to have worked for my system to eliminate the stutters.

I had the exact same experience in a different location. Although I only experienced this issue on glass cockpit planes.

Yup, still stuttering and sim crashing every time I load the KJFK landing challenge (I use it as worst case scenario benchmark). Verified the files on Steam and always asks me to download a 380mb patch.

Had the best flight in VR yesterday that includes other sims I use.
I never thought I could get such performance. I have spent along time tweaking my system and the CRJ holds no fears for me in high settings.
I never look at FPS as it’s your senses that tell you if things are running well.
Real weather arrival into Southampton yesterday was amazing.
This is only the start.

Sorry if this is too positive for the negative generation on here:) ā€œhumourā€ it’s a thing we had once upon a time.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your reports. As mentioned in the last developement update, the latest patch does cover some issues but not yet all of them. MSFS will receive some more optimization over time.

Meanwhile, we recommend experimenting with the graphic settings.

So I have done a few flights with no performance issues, 55-60ish FPS all around on ultra UWQHD, then today after a 3 hours flight approaching UHSS on the TBM9, they frame suddenly dropped from 60 to 20 on the hills in the north side of the airport, then after a few stabilized around 30-35 FPS till after landing, rising to 44 after parking and shutdown, still far from the regular 55-60.

Glad you fixed the issue with MAJOR sutters, but just letting you know there is still some out there to iron out, similar behaviour to previous bug with the CPU limiting the FPS

Latest Windows 10, latest Nvidia drivers, RTX 3090 EVGA FTW3 Ultra, I7 8700K @4.9Ghz, 32Gb RAM @3200Mhz

I have it in the clouds the issue… from 50 to 25 fps

I agree the stutters have not gone, not as bad but at Heathrow it stutters every 3-4 seconds.

I’ve not had any stuttering like we did before the patch. If you have stutters then it recovers it may have been streaming scenery loading in.

You get that when your first spawn in, then use the mouse to look around. After a few second it finishes loading, then stabilises.

Like I said, it improved greatly and I don’t get the 5 10 fps (at least for now), I’m reporting that I had a drop from 60 to about 35 FPS in a remote airfield for no reason whatsoever, hardware and internet are not an issue

I had all my stuttering when landing at Heathrow so I flew a short flight using the PA44 from Oxford to Heathrow using the ILS on 27L.

Had a few stutters on approach but after landing it was on off on off all the way to the parking point.

So my stuttering has not stopped yet, will try again over next few days.

Even tried turning down to high end system for a while, the stirring stopped for a few minutes then started again.

Might I suggest going here and implementing the affinity mask and 2 simple graphics tweaks offered. It has totally eliminated every stutter and crash for me. This guy knows his stuff. He sent me an affinity mask batch file that disables core 1 and 2 if you have more than 4. It sets the affinity and launches the sim. Amazing performance gain well before this patch!

I just finished a quick flight from EGLC to EGLL.

I did not get the stuttering, just the regular lowered frame rates due to scenery complexity. To my mind these are separate things. Perfectly flyable, and was able to pretty much nail the centre line with a 16kt crosswind on 27R in the JF Arrow.

I reckon its something that might settle down, I am convinced its something to do with downloading data

For me it’s usually being CPU bound due to scenery complexity. Both Heathrow, and London itself take their toll.

I’ve had it again, dropped from 55 to 22 about 30nm north of RJCH
