Long loading/never loading still an issue. Initially I loaded into EDDF and all went well. Then tried loading into LSGG and LSZB and it took around 3-5 minutes each.
I’m away from the sim for a while today but can anyone test this with FPS display turned on and see what the TLOD and OLOD Factor metrics are doing while loading? I have a very loose theory about how loading in might be different if you have the dynamic settings option toggled on or off. (I have it on and have not had a loading issue since the first SU2 dropped)

I have it off and don’t have any issue loading.
Dang, so just a coincidence then. Thank you!
Same here: endless loading if A/C doesn’t appear quickly.
Restarting PC seemed to fix the problem.
5090(572.83), 7900x3d, 64gb ram, steam.
I was cursing about this last couple of nights and noticed the endless spinning circle of frustration kept me on the loading screen whenever the plane wasn’t spawning in. The times I got into a flight quickly the plane was one of the first things to load.
This has worsened for me in 1.4.11.0.
Prior, I could ESC from the load and immediately start the load again and it would be okay.
Now, that has no effect.
EDIT:
I went to fold laundry and let the sim sit for 25 minutes and it still was unable to load the flight.
This is definitely much worse for me, now.
EDIT2:
Even after a quit/relaunch of the sim, I cannot load a flight.
I have found the only RELIABLE way for me to load a subsequent flight, after the first flight of any session, is to set Traffic to “Live” in the flight parameters. When I do that, I load into any airport in <1 minute every time.
Ironically, if I set Airport and Air Traffic settings to OFF in my sim General graphics settings, I achieve the same effect as setting Live Traffic to OFF when starting a flight.
First flight in career mode - loaded within seconds.
Second flight - free flight, all live - 2 minutes 30 seconds (I timed it)
Thanks! This totally helped me!
Happy to spread the info but I didn’t find it - someone up-thread discovered it last week sometime (apologies for forgetting - this is a LONG thread!).
Hi
Just to come back to this - the load time between flights, for me personally, is back to acceptable levels. Similar if not the same as SU1.
I recently installed a GeForce RTX5090, and since then I have not been able to load the 2024 simulator, the net is good, the difference is that the settings are at maximum, that was the purpose of spending a few thousand Euros, the 2024 sim is a cynical commercial proposal, which becomes a nightmare very quickly, most of the time debugging than flying
Still randomly triggerin infinite loading, very hard to pinpoint, sometimes its an addon ac, sometimes its default ac, sometimes its default airport, sometimes its addon airport…
Same here.
Incredible how Microsoft doing nothing for this…
They’re clearly not doing nothing for this as this has gone from an issue that everyone experienced to one that only some experience (hasn’t happened once to me since the first SU2 beta build). Obviously more work needs done, but to say they’re “doing nothing” is disingenuous.
So because only someone has this problem, is it right that they don’t do anything? In my opinion, it’s shameful, they should fix this immediately, because last night I couldn’t use the simulator, which I regularly bought and paid dearly for.
This is my opinion.
If you’ll read the last sentence of my post I acknowledge the issue still exists and more work needs done - but your claim that “they don’t do anything” is based on nothing but conjecture and guesses, and in fact disproven by the fact that they have put forth effort to improve this problem, and have been successful for many. I never said, nor suggested, that they should stop or have stopped working towards a resolution for all.
SInce someone discovered and shared the “Live Traffic” workaround, I have not had a single long load experience, including loading into as many as 4-5 different airports around the world randomly specifically to test long loading times for multiple flights.
To reiterate for those who might want to try it: simply set your flight conditions to “Live Traffic” prior to attempting to load in. That’s it.
If you don’t actually want Asobo’s “live traffic” in your sim (I do not - I use BATC traffic injection), in your graphics settings, be sure to set Airport Traffic Quality and Air Traffic both to OFF. You will then have a nice clean airport environment for whatever 3rd party traffic you might want to use, plus quick loading into the sim.
Why does this work? WTF knows - ask Asobo. But it does work for me, every time.
