I have done what you have said. In the B777-300er once you have acknowledge the code to ATC and I wait, the transponder does not change as you have indicated.

This issue is still present in MSFS2024.

I donā€™t think they made any changes to ATC for 2024. Not yet anyway. They say thereā€™s a plan, but, havenā€™t said what it is yet.

No, maybe a few minor changes. I think in the first trailer for MSFS2024 they showcased some major changes in the ATC system, but they must have postponed it due to time restrictions regarding the release date. Really disappointed, but letā€™s hope they will improve it in sim updates.
