When flying from LFTZ La Mole to Marseille, I came past this blurred out airport:
Is that how military airports look like or maybe just a bug?
Some countries don’t allow aerial photography of their military airfields to be published publicly and those images are blurred in Bing, Google, etc as a result. It’s possible this is what you’re seeing here. Just look on Bing Maps and you’ll see for yourself.

Have noticed that as well, thought it odd and looked on Google maps, it was also very low resolution on there. Just along from that position, around 5nm NE of Toulon there’s another installation also blurred. Looks like missile silos.
many (mixed) military use airports, military sites, nuclear power plants and some government disctricts etc are blurred.

Strange that the ai didn’t cover it with synthetic textures though…
The AI starts off with the bing maps data, so if something is missing there, the whole cycle breaks down.

Intelligence may be part of it’s name but that does not put it in the same category as a human looking at an image.
AI simply means it has the capacity to recognize things it has been taught to recognize. It is looking at the mathematical representation of a group of pixels. You and I see a blurred out image of something.
In this case it even managed to discern some buildings and plopped in what it thought belonged there. Beyond that it doesn’t see the edges its looking for to create even a road. It’s just texture to the AI.
When we simmers accept the fact that humans are not involved in recreating 99% of the world out our window, we will stop picking on the poor little AI kid trying to piece it all together and look at the BIG picture instead.
I only meant that this can still be considered a bug because the ai is not replacing those blurry textures with default textures, like it should do and allready does for lot’s of airport😕
If the ai is responsible for 99% of creating the world in the sim it’s also the one to blame when it messes up right? I don’t think it has feelings anyway so who cares😅

when a country want it’s military bases to be taken out then the whole airport will be masked with farm land.
when it looks blurred it means the picture didn’t fully load.or bing has only bad quality picture.
so fly over it again if still blurred then make a ticket at zendesk with location.
P.s check if your bing data world graphics is set to ON.
found out that when you fly and get the dreaded connection lost message then this option is set to OFF and stay’s OFF untill you turn it ON again in the settings.
Options > General > Data > Bing data world graphics …

We have got a world update France / Benelux… there shouldn‘t be any pixled areas anymore honestly. But there‘s many „shoulds“ in this sim ^^
