I made a post a couple of days ago about the Sim asking me to insert a disc at start up. ( I bought the digital Premuim Deluxe from the mS Store.)
Here’s what i found is causing the issue… When ever i have flown say in the US ( I live in the UK ) and have moved the live weather time of day slider my PC’s actual time and date shifts to whatever time UTC i was using the sim in that location. This occurs sometime later, and then if i have not noticed everytime i run the sim afterwards it will ask for a disc to be inserted until i correct the time back to what it should read here.
Anyone else getting this ?
That is, amazing. No, mine is PD from the MS store and my PCs clock hasn’t changed or has it asked for a disk. But I’ll do some testing in and hour after my current OnAir flight.

I’m in Australia.
- I set my location in the main map to a town in the US
- I confirmed live weather was turned on and moved the slider to 10:59pm local time.
- I launched the sim and clicked Fly Now.
Unfortunately it didn’t change my clock.
I repeated the exercise after I set me PC clock to not auto-update (it was set to do so) and it still didn’t change my clock. I also tried a couple of variations.
Maybe I didn’t do it quite right but I think we need more info. Like some exact step by step instructions and maybe also you PC’s time and date settings. A video would be even better if you’re able.
It’s just more as aheads up, incase others have a similar issue. It has only happened after i have adjusted the live weather time. and is not immediate.
My PC’s clock time and date settings are not even automatic, i set them manually to GMT (UK)
I am not concerned about the issue, just thought you should know.

Interesting observation and will hopefully help someone out, thanks for sharing.

My buddy saw a similar issue after he installed new AV software. He resolved by turning off his firewall while he plays (for now).
Just a theory but maybe the setting changes cause connections to occur to different nodes that are being blocked.
MS has a huge footprint across the internet for authentication and caching of data and assets. Mileage may vary when the accessing those.
