Hi everyone,
To celebrate the release of the Top Gun: Maverick expansion pack, I’m organizing an event to race for the fastest time across the United States in the Darkstar!
When: Friday, May 27, 2022 at 09:00 UTC
Where: CaptArash - Twitch
There will be prizes for the fastest pilot who can fly from China Lake NAWS to Cape Canaveral AFS Skid Strip in the shortest time. The winner will receive:
1- The bragging right to be the “Top Gun” of the first StratoSpeeder™ race of the Compass Club.
2- A gifted Tier 1 sub to their favorite Microsoft Flight Simulator streamer’s channel on Twitch.
This is a pilot episode (no pun intended) and if we find it fun and exciting and enough people participate, we might repeat it again with possible bigger prizes, who knows 
Here are the rules of the race:
- This entire race is based on honor system, every participant should play fair.
- The competition is open to all Compass Club members (followers of the CaptArash’s Twitch channel).
- For the sake of simplicity, competitors must use the newly added challenge, Darkstar, which is part of the Top Gun: Maverick expansion pack.
- Using any mods that can change the performance of the aircraft, or the default behavior of the challenge, or using any unfair practices (including, but not limited to, slewing, etc.) are NOT permitted.
- Use of external tracking applications, such as Little Navmap or Navigraph, is allowed.
- The race window starts on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 09:30 UTC and it ends at 11:30 UTC on the same day. So, everyone has 2 hours to finish this approximately 35 minutes race.
- You MUST stream the video of your gameplay on the “StratoSpeeder” voice/video channel of the Compass Club’s Discord server: Capt. Arash
a. If you are on XBOX and cannot stream your gameplay easily, you will be exempted from this rule; however, you must take a picture of your setup (XBOX and your TV/monitor), showing that you are completing the challenge during that time window, and send it to the “screenshots” channel of the same Discord server. - Upon finishing the challenge, you MUST keep the score board open until one of the moderators or Capt. Arash sees your live stream and verify your result. XBOX users are exempted from this rule.
- You MUST take a screenshot of the scoreboard clearly showing your finished time (XBOX users can take a picture with your cellphone) and submit it to the “screenshot” channel.
- If you crash, suffer from a CTD, or anything that prevents you from successfully completing the challenge, you will be allowed to start from the beginning; however, you must finish the challenge before 11:30 UTC sharp (while still following the rules number 7, 8, and 9).
- The “shortest time” will be determined based on the time recorded on your scoreboard, not the time past since the start of the race window; therefore, if you restart the challenge, you will not lose anything, unless you cannot finish it before 11:30 UTC.
- The winner and the “Top Gun” will be determined after the mods and Capt. Arash review the results.
