Stuck @ career mode: “choose starting Airport for your career”.
I can enter an airport e.g. EDDL, it focuses and then nothing. No “next” button or possibility to click the airport icon for opening a submenu or anything else.

Might not be a bug per se…
Nope… I tryed it with smaller airports nothing is possible… no icon where i can click and choose an airport. no suggestion airport icons, nothing…
Same here, fellow German captain. EDDG w/o luck.
I chose the Sedona, Arizona airport KSEZ I think which is the same one that just the basic sim training is done, and career mode works… but perhaps there are others that will work too, Hope this helps!
Shut down the game and restart it if this happens. It needs to install more packages on the second start up. Also you can only start at small airport.
let the grind begin.
Captain.
What size is a “small airport”? I’ve tried with LELL, that is quite small for me, with no success.
I am having the exact same issue, going on 48 hours. Unable to choose KVGT (North Las Vegas) or KHND (Henderson Executive). Both are GA fields. No go.
Hey guys,
I only wanted to tell you that today it’s working. I have white dots on the map where I can choose a starting airport. Thanks for your suggestions and help…
Regards
How did you manage to get it working?
I cannot select the airport that im training in
Still not working for me, I go to select airport it zooms in and puts point on airport then nothing happens.
Happens on every game launch, tried deleting my career and trying again and nothing. Have tried multiple different airports around the world same results.
It appears that only a handful of airports will let you start. I go to KCRQ for example and it shows Oceanside and Ramona as clickable, which is great that there are SOME airports that may work but it defeats the language of “Choose ANY airport.” I am still not able to start where I want, which is a big’ole’bummer.
For those Stateside, try KTAN (Taunton Municipal) up in Taunton Massachusetts (about 20 east of KPVD, 28 south of KBOS)
Not sure why KTAN was selected (should have been KEWB )
KCRQ didn’t work but KTAN did. Gonna file a big ol’ bug report this is shiiit.
Bug report filed; feel free to contribute yall.
Contributed to that bug post, thank you.
Thing I am finding is, if you find an airport you like. For the example, KCRQ since I mentioned it before, then go to it. Clear the search field and it will show you airports nearby that you can use and you can move around the map to find others. I am laughing a bit because in San Diego, two of the busiest GA airports are not selectable KCRQ (Palomar) and KMYF (Montgomery). What?
In Las Vegas, NONE of the GA airports are selectable, KVGT or KHND. But I can start at a private airfield out in Pahrump…WHAT?
I stand corrected, it is in fact working.
Not sure who mentioned it but it is true that there are only specific airports you can start your career at.
If you look at the globe view and zoom in you will all the white dots. Those are the valid career starting airports. Zoom in more and more to the area/region you want and you will begin to see the valid starting airports.
While I stand corrected this does not seem to be a bug; it is a pretty bad UI Interface decision to have a giant search box at the top left with no mention that only certain airports are valid which leads simmers to think any airport can be picked.
Mystery solved I guess, hopefully they will update the UI to be more intuitive.
Adding to this post for folks to contribute:
I think I missed this detail as well as I was too ambitious to start in an Intl airport. Thanks for the explanations but unless I am missing something here, I suggest to mention this to the user when they try to enter an Intl Airport? Again, sorry if it is there and I missed it.
It’s unfortunate they also use the language of “Choose ANY airport” if the airport is available in Free Flight, why not Career?
