I tried for nearly 48 hours to get the usa points of interest to download. I even started the DL before I went to sleep las night, woke up, still stuck.
I tried, deleting the rolling cache and a few of the other “canned responses”,
HERE IS WHAT FINALLY WORKED (For others who may face the same issue.)
I cleaned out the community folder. Then I went into ./Official/Store.
There I found about 5 or 6 usa-points-of-interest files. In no folder, just the main. I deleted those. Rebooted, restarted and retried the DL. SO FAR it seems to be working.
I’m not sure if it was the Community clean out or deleting the files in the ./Official/Store folder.
Anyhow if you face the same issue with a package and have tried all the canned responses, give this one a whack and see what happens.
Topic moved into #bugs-and-issues:performance for installation problems.
Those files in the root of the OneStore folder would be the multi-part archive files it was downloading. I don’t remember the suffix off the top of my head, but you would probably have seen something like:
microsoft-usa-point-of-interest-0-1-0-fspackage.001
microsoft-usa-point-of-interest-0-1-0-fspackage.002
microsoft-usa-point-of-interest-0-1-0-fspackage.003
A bit like a multi-part RAR file, for example. When it finishes downloading them all you will see in the MSFS GUI it then decompresses these into the single folder, then it deletes these multi-part archive.
Deleting them just forces the client to download them all over again.
Yup, I figured they must have been corrupted from a cr-py net connection, either from my ISP or from the MS servers themselves.
Possibly MSFS doesn’t do any error checking or a good enough job at it and it kept failing on those corrupt files.
So deleting them, rebooting and then trying to install again fixed the problem. No corrupt files to get stuck on.
Downloaded and installed just fine.
Now for some reason I’m stuck at 40mb speed even though I have it set to unlimited.
