I made the mistake of taking off early from work and not getting paid to try to enjoy some extra flightsim time…so much for that…
Dont worry they will say they have sorted it when most people have given up and their ■■■■ servers admit entrance.,

I didn’t have a queue message. I was one of the lucky ones who got the download and it worked fine.
Also had this error message.
I’ve hopped into MSFS 2020 and am just pretending MSFS 2024 doesn’t exist yet!

No idea why MS did a simultaneous release knowing the servers would be hammered.

I have trying to install since 8PT, it’s now 3 PT and I still haven’t been able to download. This is absolute BS. Is this what the whole experience is going to be like??? I’ve been flying this sim since its first release in 1982. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with DC. I’ll never pay for an advance product from MS ever again. People that paid in advance should have been able to get past this download debacle by being able to preinstall, not just the snippet that they let you pre-install. I’ve wasted my whole day on this sim’s failed launch. Congrats MS, well done (not!).

I was one such fool - but after the launch was announced last week as 4pm local time, it was already pointless to take today off, but I had holiday to use.
However, I ALSO have tomorrow off work, so I really hope to get up and running by then…
Many years ago, I also took holiday to play the much-anticipated Silent Hunter 5 on release day. That was a physical DVD so no problems getting it started, but it was a similar experience. Completed bugged on launch, save games didn’t even save progress (unthinkable but it was true), other features horribly broken. There was not even a day 1 patch. Ubisoft later gave all initial buyers a free game as compensation, in fact.
I had joked with colleagues about experiencing the same launch day horrors with MSFS 2024. Little did I know it would actually come true!

Can’t blame people for being anxious about a new release. Stuff gets hyped months/years before a release, so when it is released people expect atleast something working.

I managed to get past the queue screen. The animated splash screens playing. The load bar at the bottom “0% loading languages” for 20 minutes. So I stopped the sim, and restarted, and right back to the queue. There are no words, really.
I’ve been waiting for 4 hour at 0%
Do you want another bad news? Wipers are not wiping the rain.

From hype to frustration in over 6 hours!
I have never seen a game launch where people are unable to join the game for this period of time! Almost six and a half hours ago I downloaded the initial 11GB and since then I am stuck. I saw peoeple who were able to get into the sim but got kicked due to server Error in flight, and were back to 0% install und then ended up in the qeue thing.
This is by far the worst game launch of the year I guess!
Steam reviews are nuts as well.
I thought that there would be issues but really beleived that it is about download speed or maybe some photogrametry issues here and there. But a total outage of like 95% of the players?
