Stuck on Checking for Updates (2 September 2024)

What would you replace it with? And don’t suggest an Acorn Electron.

I just fired up the sim, and it got past that screen now.

Fixed for me now. Thanks.

I get this and yesterday I rest my computer and overnight installed from fresh. Even when I plugged and used my Xbox it loaded up immediately. Thinking that the Xbox would have solved it but it was stuck for 180 minutes

Looks like its works now. I am able to pass the “Checking for Updates” and the sim run as normal

it works again, it works, its life, thank you guys for fixing it

same here. Won’t load, comes up with black screen.

Working for me now in the UK as well, they must have stuck the 48k expansion pack in.

I am in the middle of a flight and keep getting connection error messages, low internet speed, ATC lagging and no Bing data. I am in UK as well.
My internet obviously works fine, no issues with browsing websites or watching YT in 4K.

Same, i am stuck on “applying settings”

Azure status is that everything is currently fine, according to the website.

Still ongoing issues in the UK.
I tried this morning and had the checking for updates. Left it alone until just now and I’m getting the low bandwidth and no Bing online data.

All other online services are fine and full 1GB download speeds.

I had this same issue today (am based in the UK). I used NordVPN to connect to their US server to try to force MSFS to use a US server and it worked on the first go afterwards. Would be nice if we could tell the game which server to try (in case one is broken such as it seems to be the case today) so we didn’t have to resort to using a VPN for this.

Here we go again…this is really getting old by now.
Fix what ever needs fixing on the bloody servers. Or give us a button to simply select play offline FFS.

BTW the same old workaround still works as before. Turn off the Network-Adapter → FS complains and tells me it needs to update 2+GB to the C:\FS\MSFS location where it is installed. Click continue and it starts just fine.
Turn on the Network Adapter at some point and the sim shows no signs of any problems.
