Following the recent world update 7 I was able to do a quick flight and confirmed new scenery had loaded. Then ever since restarting the sim the second time I have been stuck on “Checking for Updates” and cannot get past it.

Checked no pending Windows 10 updates - Uninstalled game via Steam and re-installed and have the same problem
Edit: - Have rebooted PC multiple times
Edit: - No data cap and no issues with wifi connectivity
Edit: - Tried with antivirus disabled
Edit: - Community folder is empty, both on the first install and wasn’t used for second
The reinstall gaming services via windows powershell suggestion didn’t work for me. Even running as administrator I get an error when running the delete code as suggested in the link above.
Please help I don’t know what else to try! (except formatting the PC, not keen on that if I can avoid it).

I have rebooted the PC many times (lost count long ago). I don’t have a data cap or any issues with wifi.
Antivirus I hadn’t thought of, just tried turning it off then but still no luck.
How about starting msfs and walking away, go to bed, go to work?
Maybe, maybe I’ll finally load…then you can check for any missing content.

Yeah that was my first thought. I have left it running for a few different times, longest being 4 hours.
I’ll try it overnight tonight but I’m not hopeful.
Yes, I referenced that page in my post. I had seen it and tried everything suggested (except the last point about gaming services, it gives me an error message when I try to delete).
Just thinking out loud, forgive if you mentioned it:
You had xbox install of msfs, switched to pc version.
-Did you install any market place items when on xbox and then install on pc?
Perhaps, they are not compatible…
-Could it be an ms account issue? Hanging because it can’t verify your pc?
No I haven’t used the xbox version, I don’t own an xbox.
It could be a verification issue but I don’t know how to check that? or how to reset it if it is? It has been fine up until this last update.
I am logged in to my account in windows and in the microsoft store. Also in the xbox PC app. Although I have the Steam version anyway so not sure what difference that makes.
