Florida, USA. I’m usually connected to the USA-East server.

Launched FS2020. Took 6 minutes on ‘Checking For Updates.’
Then a CTD about halfway through the rest of the sim load.
First CTD I’ve had in well over a year, on 2020 or 2024.

Was working fine yesterday.

FS2024 launched fine after.

ETA: Tried two flights.

  1. CTD after clicking ‘Configure’ in the P-38 aircraft page.
  2. CTD 1 minute after entering the P-38 cockpit.

I’ve never had CTD’s in FS2024.

This!! Totally agree.

Same issue UK

Same here, connected from Chile

Game does not launch anymore on PC and Xbox X in PT.

Server down, there should be an option before you launch the game if you want to be online or not.

Game does not launch anymore.

Well done :+1:

Hello all, we have escalated this issue.

Thanks, glad we didn’t wait longer before doing so.

Wisconsin its out

Trying to load 2020 and also stuck. UK-based.

Two attempts thus far:

  1. I launched the sim and walked away. Came back 10 mins later to an unusual loading screen. The 40th anniversary splash screen with the yellow chevrons (but with with no text) and the loading bar around 95% completed. After a few more minutes it reached the main menu - then immediately crashed without me clicking anything.

  2. After being stuck on “checking for updates” for 10-15 mins, I have the same loading screen. (Perhaps they removed the last World Update loading screens and I didn’t notice until now )

Since I only find time to fly once or twice a week, it’s very disappointing. Guess I’ll try 2024 if 2020 won’t work.

Same issue here today. The sim worked fine last night. Normally CTD issues are resolved with a reboot. I’ve moved everything out of the Community folder, rebooted, opened in Safe Mode. The only “fix” is to disable my network connection. Unfortunately as soon as I enable the connection again (even in mid-flight), it crashes to the desktop. Frustrating. Also why are similar topics being closed? Seems counterproductive.

Just tried reinstalling after a couple years. Can’t stay connected to servers so install/update crashes to desktop or gives a “Servers are too busy” then crashes or restarts.

I was going to try undating to 2024 but with this type of issue on an old version, no way I am going to waste $200 of my money on the latest (that is also suffering this server overload issue).
