I wish you the best.
And one last question. I will use the operating system on the ssd, everything sim related on the 1 tb hdd, i dont think ill have enough storage for the ssd but it will be faster right because i installed the operating system to the ssd. Again, i have a 1 TB HDD and a 256 GB SSD. The operating system will be on the SSD and the unallocated space on the HDD will be MSFS. But it will run smoothly then because the OS is in the SSD, right?
Itās not a bad idea to have the OS on a small, fast drive like your 200GB SSD, but donāt expect it to solve any problems you are having with the sim files stored on your slow 1TB platter drive.
Running the OS on the fast SSD will only speed up booting into Windows, and the load times of any other programs running on that drive.
It will do very little (if anything) to improve MSFS disk I/O on the platter drive.
Sorry, but thatās just the way it is. You need a faster drive for the sim files.
You would need to do a fresh install of Windows on the SSD, and then you may have issues booting the system, because you have the OS system files on the 1TB platter drive. That will cause a problem, and itās not easy to delete a system partition. I think it can be done, but itās beyond my skill level, so I canāt give you any advice about that process.
Heres a little Update.
I bought a SSD. Its a Crucial 1TB NVME M. 2 SSD with the PCIE 3 Gen, because PCIE 4 isnt supported with MSI Z390, so it will only run at its half speed.
I will put it in the NVME 1_1 Slot and then clone my drive there. MSFS would then run faster⦠well i hope. It will arrive 4th of March or later. So iāll give you guys another update until then.
Ill move MSFS temporarily to the 256 SSD.
