Stuttering but all Values green in FPS display

Hi ,
Here my System Specs :
I9 9900k
RTX2080Ti
32 GB RAM
4K LG Monitor
Game resolution : 3840 x 2160

As you can see all values in the FPS Display was green . No Problems .
But the Game Stutters .
I try differnet things :
Use Process Lasso to set some CPU Settings .
Try different Nvidia Settings ( Locked FPS , Vsync on or off )
Newest Nvidia Driver
Game Mode On and Off
Hardware Accelerated GPU

But nothing helps againt teh Stutters .

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks

Try flying totaly ofline no live no traffic etc.

i"ve als noticed the first time flying around game stutters, when i exit and come back second time same place things got a little better , i think due to the rolling cash.

Hopes this helps.

Can you post a video? Your system is good and you can ditch Lasso and Game mode.
Only, it would be helpful to understand if the stutters are seriously affecting the gameplay or are occasional, which is a perfectly normal behavior.

I am getting the same problem lately.
I noticed it is more prominent around mountain regions with trees. Thought it might be connected to trees, but it isn’t. I reduced trees to low, but it changed nothing. But it’s abolutely more prominent in regions with lots of hills or mountains.

It is very annoying. I get constant 50 fps, but every few seconds there is this mini freeze. Sometimes it’s ok for maybe 30 seconds, but then it starts again, every 5 to 10 seconds.

Some things you can try (Things that cause stutters for me, running very similar specs)

  • Disable rolling cache
  • Turn off GSync in Nvidia control panel (If you’re using it)
  • Don’t use any simconnect third party apps for now
  • Consider turning off hyper-threading (Just testing this at the moment)

simconnect is hosed in the release version. if u running any 3rd party software it will cause drastic stutter. they working on it and will have a patch soon.

Becoming neurasthenic soon :slightly_smiling_face:

trying to change the rolling cache for me that helped and set mine to 50GB

Thanks this was the right Tip .
I set my Rolling Cache to 100GB .
Now i set the Cache to 10GB and the Stutters are nearly gone

Michael

try even less since the update I set it to 5 GB.
What settings do you fly? I come with the same PC values to max 70 Fps, I have set Ultra with small modifications.

I disabled the rolling cache all together, I have unlimited data and frankly speaking it gave only problems until now…

Is it fair to say that I should be apalled at this on my FPS display? (I assume the 10.2 in the top of the photo is my frame rate)

I have an 11 year old computer (a Talon from Falcon Northwest) with a GeForce GTX 580 and it (apparently) barely does the job but I’ve been using it for 742+ hours.

I have recently ordered a new machine that is due in a couple weeks but I have not had all the issues that I’ve been reading about CDT‘s and jitters or any of that… granted most of my settings are at medium.

Can’t wait to get the new (Talon) system up and running.:stuck_out_tongue:

GPU mem budget: zero.

Same thing here. I’m at 39 fps and it should not stutter at this rate but it does, more on the side of the screen though.

In my experience anything below stable 60 fps results in slight, but noticeable stutters at the edge of the monitor.

General slight stutters if the fps are dropping below the locked value.

E.g. I can’t fly the 787 at 60fps because the fps are well below this value. Locking the fps to 30 eliminates stutters because MSFS can maintain this fps on my mediocre machine.

With steam gauge aircraft I’m locking the fps at 60 which results in nice and very smooth behavior which is even sufficient for stutterfree aerobatics.

Interesting. Thanks. I no longer lock fps since I disable v-sync to get more fps, than can’t lock fsp in the options.
Update on my previous comment:
It was more on the side but also in the middle of the screen.
Finaly, after about 5 min of flight, stutter stops even if I was in a more dense area (Aspen, arriving from a small airport in the south with not much objects).

If you are not doing aerobatics or wild low level maneuvering try locking fps to 30.

I discovered this by accident and I always thought that 60 is the optimum for a smooth flying experience.

I was wondering because the PC fans were almost silent despite my locked 60fps and when I rechecked the settings I discovered that I had them set to 30 during earlier testing.

GPU and CPU temps are way lower as well of course
