Stuttering only in the VR Headset

@winke86 The Reverb G2 is arguably capable of giving the absolute smoothest possible experience of all currently available headsets, thanks primarily to the work the great Matthieu Bucchia did on WMR and the OXR Toolkit.

You do have to put some work into setting things up just right, but it’s all one-time stuff and absolutely worth it.

There are two great threads on how to get the smoothest setup, one for those who like motion reprojection (myself included)…

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/reverb-g2-all-around-settings-mini-guide-for-maximum-smoothness/590144

And another for those who don’t…

Motion reprojection will provide a noticeably smoother experience but at the expense of some artifacts on high contrast quickly moving items on screen. Those bother some people greatly and others not at all, it’s very much personal taste.

As far as the pictures on the screen, it’s actually the other way around. Those are showing a mirror image of what’s being displayed in the headset.

There is interaction between the 2D screen and VR image, but only insofar as MSFS uses the 2D window for mouse position and click tracking. Some tweaking of monitor refresh rate can be done to mitigate FS’s interference and provide a tiny bit smoother display, but unless you’re hypersensitive to microstutter (I am) it may not be worth that extra effort. The lion’s share of what you need is in those two threads above. You will need to download a couple of free bits of software to get the best out of it.

Good luck!
