Yeah, I am currently a little over 6 hours into a long haul over the Pacific en route to SFO in the PMDG 777-200ER. Super hard to knock this level of performance.
I am fairly new to the beta programme. So here goes.. I am on SU2 beta and am noticing that i cannot set my time of day to what ever i want. If for instance i set it 12 noon, and the real time is 2200 then after aboujt 1 minute the sim reverts to real time and i do not know how to stop this from happening. Can anyone advise! Thankyou
I have weather and time set to Preset, Air ttraffic set to off, and multiplayer set to off also. The weather prest is set to live. And still it reverts to real time?? This is getting annoying now.
Regarding these lights, and having looked again for real two nights ago I’d say the following.
In SU2 the airport ground lights are now too big and too consistently bright. However, where lights are that bright for real then the distant blurring is probably more realistic than them being pin sharp. That is not the case if the lights are not actually crazy bright though.
As we taxied out the other night most lights were at a normal brightness level and looked mostly like SU1 at all distances from the flight deck. The actual green lights on the taxiway centreline were turned up and much brighter, and as a result appeared bigger overall and more blurred in the distance. This is to the naked eye, no cameras, and from a 787 flightdeck.
Finally, PAPIs look nothing like they do in SU2. That really needs addressing as the current iteration of them is very poor. I’m not using that phrase lightly as it is being bandied around unfairly regarding SU2 and FS2024 in general, but the implementation of the PAPIs in the current build is a huge regression. Taking it as an overall view I’d say the airport ground lighting was a 7/10 in SU1. In SU2 it’s more like 3 or 4 out of 10 and the PAPIs are a 1/10, and that’s being generous.
True. If you had mutiplayer Live on. You can only use live time. If you used multiplayer all. Then you can set time and weather to whatever you want. It always been like that. Also in 2020 from the start
I usually have good FPS with both complex aircraft and sceneries, but, sometimes, FPS drops really hard when landing. Final approach is fine, but when passing the runway thereshold, the sim runs at 5-10 fps. Once I vacate the runway, FPS go back and it performs smoothly.
It can happen even with the default PC12 in remote airports, with no addons installed.
On the other hand, I see great improvements in texture loading and airplanes. Really nice!
Since no one here can answer your question, my suggestion to you, and everyone else having issues, is to watch the next Dev Stream coming soon. For anyone that can’t watch it live then it can be watched later at any time.
I’m looking forward to it as I have my own set of issues, many of which have been reported, and some that have been bug logged but not yet fixed.
Ever since I started using 2024 in January, I’ve had periodic issues with what appears to be slow loading of data from the cloud. It often hangs for long periods at 25%, loading into flights, and even once flight has started scenery not loading blocky/missing textures, terminals missing, and some low bandwidth warnings too.
It used to be every once in a while, but over the past couple weeks it has become almost every time. I’m frustrated and don’t believe it is due to:
add-ons (only a couple custom cameras that I haven’t changed for months)
internet speed (getting 300Mbps via speed test right now)
I’m typing this after waiting 10 min for sim to load and almost up to 20min waiting for flight to start (blocky textures on loading map; see image below)
But I don’t see many people posting about this issue these days… so I think maybe the issue is not servers? No one else is having these problems?
It’s a shame for me because I had gotten to the point where I was consistently getting very good VR performance with SU2… if only the darn thing would load
