Do I have to rejoin the beta for this update? It’s not roll out in the regular sim-version?

Yes, you would have to rejoin the Beta if you left it in order to get this particular build.

Initial impressions are fantastic, things are back to what they were with SU4. No Memory issues loading into an airliner in Career Mode or Free Flight. Load times are shortened again. Just overall exactly what I was hoping to see from this new build!

How good!!!
can’t wait for your stream and will tackle this beta for the weekend, airliner career mode being the biggest resource hog, if it works for that should cascade to all AC and modes

It looks very very good at first sight ! No more (or very little) stutters when panning the views, and good FPS at landing and at big airports. Hope it will remains like this !!

Still experiencing large stutters when changing instrument views from an overhead panel to a lower panel as previously reported in the following bug report.

I’ll do further testing, but from an initial test, compared to the su5, it seems that the stuttering issue when panning, especially in the virtual cockpit and especially when panning from bottom to top or backwards, has improved. The stuttering still occurs, but it seems less. Now, if Asobo is listening, I’d like to ask him to clarify what he changed to ā€œimproveā€ the situation and whether there’s further room for improvement. I repeat, this first test seems better than before, even if it’s not resolved, because the stuttering is still present and very noticeable.

So I tried going back Into the beta for 5.1 on Xbox series x and can confirm that still using the efb panel and atc window will still crash your game and give you a low memory warning as it was on the live build 5.0. Especially importing a flight into the efb and then sending to atc. That will cause a crash almost all the time and low memory. Also don’t notice any difference in performance between the versions either they seem to run the same. Without using both those systems your performance will still be stable

I’ve posted in a couple other threads related to the stutter while panning issue. I’ll post here as well just to wrap it up. This 5.1 beta has all but eliminated the stutter while panning around outside the aircraft for me. I’ll call it 99% fixed. Still a slight hiccup when toggling back in the cockpit, but not nearly as bad. I had earlier today updated to the latest nvidia driver and last night i reinstalled the sim. So a pretty clean install with most of my addons enabled now. 9800x3d, 5070ti dlss quality, 4k 60hz. This is really good. Great job getting a handle on this.

Interesting… on my 4060 8 Gig GPU and 5930K CPU (which is not supported officially by the way) with medium live traffic and multiplayer On, T/LOD 50. low/med settings (clouds HIGH) I am able to play in 4K (DLAA) without stutters (B737M8 at KORD)

So do I have to join the beta to get this update

Very positive feeling after my first flight from EGLC to EGLL (Inibuilds) in VR. Couple of stutters at landing, but otherwise very nice flight.

Yes to get it now

On PC, I think there must be a Line of Sight component to the LOD / TLOD logic now. Things seem fine - pretty good actually - but in external view there is some stuttering when panning. The first time you pan in a direction it stutters quite hard … then if you pan back and forth it seems to recover… suggesting the first time you pan it needs to load what was out of view, and bottlenecking.

The loading of those objects needs some serialized scheduling to limit impact and avoid stutters (in my opinion).

This update seems to have fixed the issue I was having with MamuDesign Powerlines:

Flew the route with it disabled and then enabled it to test. No freezes. Started a new session and tried again and still no freezes with Powerlines enabled. These freezes had been 100% repeatable with the mod enabled. First noticed during SU5 Beta. Glad to have it back again.
