SU6 Beta General Feedback and Discussion Thread

Please use this thread for general feedback and discussion related to the SU6 Beta.

Please do not post bug reports in this thread. If you encounter a bug in the beta, we kindly request that you create a new bug report topic (one issue per thread) in the appropriate subsection of the Sim Update 6 Beta | MSFS 2024 forum. Thank you for your cooperation.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Important Note

If you are reporting any issues related to perceived reductions to performance, stability, visual quality, or anything else, please share the following information:

  • Platform (PC, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro)
    • If PC, please also list your system specs and in-sim graphical settings
  • Aircraft type you were using at the time you experienced the issue
  • Weather conditions including if you were using a Preset or Live Weather
  • Was the in-sim ATC enabled or disabled?
  • Departure and Destination Airport and/or approximate location when you experienced the issue
  • Any other information that would allow our dev and QA teams to reliably reproduce the issue you are experiencing

Optionally, you may also run an internet speedtest and share this information if you wish.

  • On PC and XBOX:
    • Open a web browser and type “speedtest” in the navigation bar
    • Run the speedtest when prompted and post a screenshot similar to the below (screenshot taken from Edge/Bing Search; other browsers and search engines may appear slightly different)
  • On PS5:
    • Go to Settings → Network → View Connection Status and scroll down until you see “Connection Speed”. Select either the Download or Upload options to run the speedtest.

Hey everybody! Some cool things in the patch notes

SU6 broke Chaseplane. Time to revert back to 5.1.

As always, this is common - if not expected - in betas, especially early ones and with complex third party addons. Best bet is to report this to //42 so they can look into it and be prepared for a fix for when SU6 goes live, if they so choose.

Gosh darned it .. I just left the beta yesterday!:face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: (More players in the main server vs the beta one)

Cant wait to get home to see the tarmac night lighting implementation!

The release notes:

The reality: No fix, see video (again)

SU5.1 actually shared multiplayer servers between beta and non-beta. No idea if SU6 is doing the same but I suspect not.

Somehow that does not appear to reflect in the number of green dots on the map when im in the beta. Observe a substantially higher number of green dots (Players) when im not in the beta.

The World Map has never been a reliable way to see/track live or multiplayer traffic. But I can assure you, having participated in Friday Fly-Ins on SU5.1 beta, the servers were shared.

Be aware of install in My library if you have scenery on your ssd
After installing beta 6, 1.8.5.0

What are we supposed to observe in this video that is a problem ? Apologies for asking ..not meaning to offend.

Are the bush trips back?

Agreed - I don’t see any issue here.

No worries. It’s the slow morphing of textures when switching between cockpit view and external view. Watch how the mountains in external view basically build gradually and the same applies to cockpit instruments or elements of the body of the plane when you do back to cockpit view. It is logged as a bug since SU4 and it is definitely not present in MSFS 2020.

Here’s the bug logged thread:

It’s a logged bug since SU4. Maybe the video does not show it well but trust me it is there. I have posted the relevant thread.

Sadly, no :expressionless_face:

“underscore”… again I have to hear this…

Devs please FIX THIS ASAP!!!

My custom Tobii profiles seem to have disappeared with the introduction of the beta.

Is this to blame:
