SU7 EFB Ground Services App discussion

With SU 7 v. 1.9.12.0, there is a new Ground Services app in the EFB.

I think the buttons should grey out if they are not functional for a given aircraft, and/or they should report an issue if for whatever reason the action isn’t successful?

I’m in the TBM 930

Button Intitial State Click Result
Chocks On OK - Removes
Off Doesn’t put them on
Door 1 & 2 Closed Won’t open
Open Won’t close
Cargo Door Closed OK - Opens
Open OK - Closes

There are problems with every 1st and 3d party plane I checked (except L-39) - A320/321/B737M8/B747/B787/B707/Il-18D
For IniBuilds default planes this application killed ability to call catering and baggage services via both EFBs - with this application and a default one coming with the plane. There are problems with how closed/opened doors are marked by the application - those which are closed are marked as open and open are marked as closed ones.
In some cases in the first cession the application does not open the door, in the second cession - opened the same door (Door 2 in Il-18D from Nemeth Design).

I believe a lot depends on the plane here - some of them may be compatible, some - not. I just post few pictures here, I do not have power to describe them now.

This is a nice idea, but I’m not surprised it’s pretty broken on first blush. Everything about the EFB is shonky. It still quietly deletes your entire ifr plan if you dare to change weather or aircraft details.

Can someone test the fueling functions? I do mostly GA touring, so it would be nice to have an immersive way to handle fuel between legs.

It deletes the IFR plan even if you change nothing:)))) One moment it is there and on the next one it is not:))) In my case this happened after ATC gave me a new altitude. Or it may delete only headings in one page and add them on another one. The EFB’s flight plan/following feature is broken further more in SU7 Beta.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

EFB Pushback and Doors. Affirmations and criticisms

Description of the issue: EFB ground crontrol for pushback and doors, great start. I was surprised by this new feature, as I had used another pushback application with increasing frustration. It might have been in the notes, but sometimes I read the notes with same understanding of Charlie Brown listening to his teacher in the Peanuts cartoons.
I like that you can push an aircraft back and right or left. First criticism is that you cannot go forward. A look at LAX (IRL), for example, would show several planes per hour being towed toward the maintenance hangar or back to the gate. A forward feature and speed control would be indicated. Also, I was able to pushback the 747-8F without powering up anything; hence no radio communication. Also I was able to operate the doors without turning on the battery, APU or ground power, or hydraulics. I am very grateful for the new feature as a beginning point.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? 100 pct.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Keep electrical systems and hydraulics off.

  2. You will be able to push backwards, right and left, though you shouldn’t be able to unless radio clearance given (I know that might be considered separate issues).

  3. You cannot move the plane forward.

  4. You are able to open all the doors without any electrical or hydraulic power from the plane, which should not happen.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub. N/A

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? Not Developer, no changes

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring. None

I use simbrief flight plans. For me it is the AI copilot who cancels the flight plan, then asks for the same plan again. I have posted about this elsewhere. (Asobo 747-8F, PC MS store)

More Pushback frustrations.

Simply, the pushback Tug did not move. The plane did, but not the tug. There should be a button that instructs the tug to connect. When I used Pushback Express, they had a dialogue about disarming the emergency brakes, then stated when the aircraft was clear of others for engine start. Lately, it is wonky, which is why I opted for the EFB, but it has a way to go before being satisfying.
