Sudden decrease in performance since like 6 hours

Hello everyone

Up until today, MSFS 2024 was operating smoothly (yes, in a broken state).

However, it has been completely lost for the past four hours, and its performance is really bad. None of the add-ons, including Fslabs and Fenix, are showing up.

Any one else with same issue?

I just did a three hour flight in FS24. No performance issues here.

Just completed two half hour GA flights in Vermont, US. No issues at all (SU2). Cheers!

In my case (VR)

Even addons getting disappeared!

I did some short flights earlier in VR too and noticed much higher GPU frame times than usual and just yesterday, causing stutters with my regular settings in low-stress environments. Very strange.

Yesterday everything was very smooth. I changed nothing, even same plane.

What kind of performance issues are you seeing?

Hi, are you now flying in SU3 retail release or still on SU2?

Neither lol. Earlier when I did those flights it was still the final beta before release. Haven’t tried again to get the (delayed) update since. So more or less SU3 since they hardly changed anything.

Known issue since more then a month now, I can’t even believe Asobo would release an update like this, for me the sim is unusable at this point, you can find more detailt about this under performance in SU3b forum - mainthread…

If somebody is experiencing performance degradation in flight or over time, report it here. Known mainthread issue since many weeks.

I had pretty bad pop in scenery, trees and ground glitches after the update to SU3 retail, uninstalled it then a reboot. Reinstalled SU3 and what a difference. I’d suggest those that have ■■■■■■ performance or issues do the same. I also updated to Nvidia 581.88 driver after the reinstalled of SU3 but went back and clean installed 580.97 because it is much more constant frame rate for my system than the new driver.

VR performance now is pathetic

Stutters with same settings and nothing changed.

Pathetic

Hey all. Yes I have also noticed this issue wherein beyond a certain hours of playing, the sim performance decreases. I was testing a turnaround flight from SIN-CGK-SIN in SU3. All went smoothly in the 1st leg, but then it just dipped from 45-55 FPS (native), to 30-35 FPS (native) from 2nd leg of the flight.

I noticed that the SIM stopped using the processor as much and the CPU utilization in the 2nd leg was just about 3.2 GHz to 3.5 GHz (vs. 4.2-4.5 GHz in the 1st leg). I have a Ryzen 9950x3d paired with an RTX 4090 and 64GB ram kit at 6000 MT/s. So definitely not hardware issue.

For whatever reason, the SIM just stops using the CPU after a point and limits itself. No clue why.

Hopefully there will be a hotfix for it.
