Sudden Slideshow - Pimax 5K

Hey Guys,

I have a 12900K with RTX 2080Ti, 32GB 3200 RAM and the Pimax 5K.

I had everything perfectly optimized and stable high FPS 3 months ago, but my PC has just sat for a few months while I was busy with work on my Mac. I fired up my PC tonight and suddenly MSFS under VR is a slideshow.

MSFS updated when I opened it today. I’ve rebooted, checked all my MSFS, PiTool, OpenXR Toolkit settings and SteamVR settings and everything is in order.

Does anyone have any idea what may have happened? My PC is a 6 month old build, it seems like a driver or the MSFS update has nuked everything?

Have you tried rolling back the Nvidia driver? To the best of my knowledge there have been no MSFS updates this week (unless you are using the BETA?)

Also, worth clearing the windows shader cache.

Just trying the latest drivers, I think that could be the issue, 531.68 is what is installed, updating to the latest 535.98. From memory I didn’t run MSFS after the last driver update.

I hadn’t updated MSFS for months as I hadn’t launched it for about 3 months, and it did do an update for about 700-900mb.

I’ll look into clearing the windows shader cache, thanks for your help, I rolled my SteamVR settings back and got decent frame rates but super stuttery when I looked around.

It was the drivers. I had updated a couple of months ago but hadn’t flown the sim, all back to normal now with the new drivers.
