While flying from Dublin to NY on autopilot and autothrust, suddenly engines both lose power and nothing I could do would get them back. The engines were not turned off by mistake, checklist was completed before takeoff and everything was smooth. I used “Travel” to jump ahead to “Descent” and a while after this the problems began. I tried landing in Nova Scotia but crashed.
I assume this is another bug in the “travel forward” option, but am not sure…
Thanks for letting me know that this bug has already been discussed and, hopefully, documented by Microsoft. I will not use “Travel To” for the time being…
Well I’m not sure it a travel to only bug. This keeps happening to me for the first time started about a week ago. Short flight from Liverpool to Heathrow same route 3rd time now! A320 just dies and falls to it death?
I had the same happen to me (once). I was flying through a thunderstorm and all of a sudden I lost all power and electricity. The flight surfaces were working though so I attempted the “Gimli Glider” maneuver. My skills were not up to it and I ended up crashing before reaching the nearest airport. I never figured out why I lost power. I had been playing around with the FMS and thought I might have overloaded MSFS with instructions or maybe a lightning strike had fried my electronics.
Oh I forgot to mention I did manager to land at Heathrow once with no power badly may I add lol. And press continue on option screen. And low and behold the avionics and engines started to boot up? So to my mind the is a bug of some sort. I really don’t know?
Possibly, but the “travel to” is a known issue, as you have seen above, and he was using that function.
If your issue is only happening in one place, then it probably isn’t the same issue.
It sounds scenery related.
The fact that everything restarted when not in the problem area adds some weight to that idea as well.
Is your issue repeatable at a different location?
Do you have any add-on sceneries installed?
Are you flying the default or the mod A320?
Hi
yes you do have a point! And no I do not have any add ons. I did have the 320 FBW and it happened in that so deleted and flew with the default with the same result. I will try another sort route and see how I get on. Thank you for your input much appreciated
Alec
If this persists, I would recommend you try one of the other versions of the mod.
There have been a few posts of the default A320 acting this way.
The stable version of the mod is only stable until the next MSFS upgrade/patch, after that it is a little bit iffy.
The other versions of the mod do not seem to be affected.
Here is a link to a post explaining the various types of the mod , with some links to them. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/a320-nx-hand-flying-the-touch-and-go/347310/9?u=thesevenflyer
Just throwing it out there… if you’re using a switch-panel or magneto switches, if its left on ‘starter’ it will continue to drain the battery until the elecs fail. Did my head in for weeks as the radio turns off and my ATC chatter was lost.
Yes it could be on my saitek switch panel. I see your point, but I’ve had this sim from day one. Ya it’s got bugs I get that. But I’ve never had A320 die mid flight since a week also. I’ve had good advice on here and I will take all of your advice moving forward. I love this sim👍
Hi daspadger you where right mate. Only it wasnt what you said maybe the cause, but the two red master switchers were both down on the on position. Feel like a proper bozo lol. Thanks again
