Why did you put up a forum just for us cockpit builders, when the flight sim is basically useless for building a cockpit around?
Without independent camera views, FOV, and positions we can not use our multiple monitors. Nvidia Surround does not count.
If you truly want builders, to build and use your product, we need that support. Otherwise the new FS is nothing more than a game, not a true simulator.
Please help us out.
Sincerely,
Disappointed user

Completely agree.
After 2 days of “tweaking”, I finally got my yoke and rudder set up functional to 80% accuracy.
I then [solved] my custom panel button assignment issue (another 3 hours) and can finally say I can fly.
Cockpit building though is far beyond what this game can incorporate at this time.
Peripheral support is very disappointing.
THE GOOD news is, it will get better. This game is gorgeous - truly a sight to behold - but I hope the developers are reading these pleas!!! It is just a Eye Candy Festival without immersion of peripheral support.

Sad really…
December 2019 Asobo clearly promised us that multi-screens / windows are supported.
See mark 3:15 in their video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLcSNppK14k
The reality is, if they didn’t promise these fundamental features, many of us would not have invested in their product. Not only did they take our money and not deliver as promised, they also have yet to address their blunder. Perfect example of corporate greed.
Beautiful scenery is a great feature, but it doesn’t make a simulator. This is not a flight simulator Microsoft, its a game.

Totally… I have 3 x 40" TVs that look AMAZING in X-Plane. I purchased MSFS solely on the developer comments of “multi monitor support”
It is beautiful to look at, but I feel completely ripped off. Just tossing the coin if I want to go for a refund…if they even give them?

While I share all expressed thoughts here, I think patience is what we all need for now.
I was not expecting this to be released so soon, at the most, I would’ve thought we’d be on an open beta state now. Instead, we have a game release. So some things will definitely need more work. Patience, padawans.
I have patience, and now I’ve dropped $120 on this product, I’m kind of forced to wait for the one feature I was informed would work right out of the box. So after all that, i close MSFS, and head back to X-Plane.
Meanwhile, I’ll…be…patient…

I can’t help but feel that Asobo pulled a cash-flow stunt. Essentially needed more cash to continue development - hence the earlier incomplete release.
True. At least they had time to do the important things, like model Giraffes
That’s the video I based my decision on as well. I removed X-plane from my sim cockpit for FS2020 only to find out it wasn’t capable. Love the graphics, but its not usable as a cockpit build. Fingers crossed they are working on the issues.

Patience people, patience. Feel lucky they released the game mid August. They could have released it much later, at least you can get slowly acquainted with it. There is a long road ahead of us, appreciate the work that has been done so far : )

All well and good, if you fly on one screen. For those of us that have dumped a lot of money into a home cockpit, not so good.
I refuse to be forced to a single screen. This is an option all real simulators have. At this point it is more of an eye candy game than an real simulator. Back in mid 2019 MS assured us that multi screen support would be there on launch. It is not.
That is why we are upset. We are a subset of real simmers, not occasional gamers. Promises were made that they would support us, and at launch it is evident they have no intent to. I doubt if we will ever see it. Our only hope is a third party add on.
Until then, it is back to XP11 for me. The Ortho photos I use are much higher detail and more realistic looking than the Bing images anyway.

Don’t worry, your triple screen support will be coming as well as VR for all headsets. I am sure you’ll be happy with the sim at some point : )
Do you have an inside scoop? I am sure VR is coming, but I highly doubt true multi monitor. I hope it is, I really do. Until then, it is not worth the time to set up all my peripherals. I have spent the better part of 3 days looking for some kind of work around, or application that would help, but nada…
My scoop is trust the French, they’re MAKING SIM GREAT AGAIN. I haven’t bought the game yet, waiting for VR to come out. So yes going back to X-plane in the mean time is not a bad idea. Have faith in Asobo, I’m French by the way : )
We do know we have work to do for multi-monitor support. At this time, the options are to pop-out the windows and move them to a second monitor, or if you want, you can go to windowed mode and then drag your screen across your monitors. Of course, the wider the resolution is, the more the image is going to be stretched out on the Left/Right edges. We still need to do specific work to avoid those deformations on extra wide displays but the team is working towards this functionality.
Until then, we do plan to support more in the future, and want to continue to make more features available for home cockpit builders as we know you have invested a lot of time and effort into making some seriously cool setups!

Thank you for the reply! I am super excited to hear that you are working on it! Disappointed that it was not in the release, but I will get over it. LOL
Stretching is just not an option for some of us. I have not tried the pop outs yet. You can check out my setup on the linked video. Stretching causes great distortion with monitors in the positions such as my 172 cockpit setup. When the wings do show, they look like jet wings, swept way back. LOL It also makes it impossible to judge distances, and angles to line up with.
Anyway, thank you so much. I look forward to future improvements, and I hope that this can become a real simulator.

Definitely understand that, I don’t think stretching is a great user experience anyway but it’s an option I feel obligated to state. Absolutely love your set up! Once there is more news on added functionality for all the features you stated here I think this entire category will be brought a bit of justice.
