Switching from Xbox to PC?

Hi!!

I play MSFS 2020 on Xbox Series X. I have a PC equipped with a Ryzen 5 3600X and an RTX 3060 V2 OC 12gb GDDR6 and I’m in the process of upgrading from 16gb of ram to 32gb and upgrading the SSD to an NVME. I’m considering switching to PC because of the mods and other features that don’t exist on Xbox, but I’d like to know if with this PC the graphical experience will be diminished compared to Xbox or on the contrary will it be similar or better.

Thank’s!

At least you’ll be able to download and install add-on liveries. Just this alone would be worth the effort to change to PC.

Will I experience a performance or quality drop compared to Xbox with this PC?

that looks broadly equivalent to Xbox, if not slightly better. Why don’t you install it and give it a try first?

Hi.

I’ve installed the game on PC, and with a medium-high configuration at 1440p (same resolution I use on Xbox Series X), the truth is that in non-scanned airports, the game runs smoothly. However, in scanned airports (I’ve tested Barcelona, Charles de Gaulle, and Heathrow), the game performs significantly worse than on Xbox. I’ve tried playing without active traffic, just as I do on Xbox. Lowering the quality to medium improves things somewhat, but it still struggles more than on Xbox. Do you have any suggestions for trying a more specific configuration? Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll stick to Xbox.

Thanks

What are your settings on PC?

Sorry, I’m away from home right now and can’t set all the parameters exactly. I have almost everything on high except for trees and the sea, which I have set to medium to improve performance a bit. I’m using Nvidia DLSS on balanced mode.

Was this before the latest patch? There was an airport stutter bug that affected PCs but not XBOXes that they patched out yesterday morning.

My last version is 1.38.2.0, last update 18/12/2024

Oh, my mistake. I thought you were using 2024. Hope you find a solution!
