Talking about Icing

What do you guys think of this?
Guess I need some ice scraper to make this flight…

to my mind, the simulated iceing effect in the Sim is total unrealistic. I´m a real Pilot and anybody who knows something about the process and physics / causes of iceing, know that is totally wrong?

Rmmm… this post was about finding a frozen plane on the ramp…
I’d check and de-ice the wings and props and simply start the engines, let it warm up, work through the checklists and gooooo…
I agree that ice condiditions are not perfectly simulated but it’s close enough in the sim.

I spawned at Telluride for a flight and before I could even taxi out, the plane was completely iced up. It is certainly a challenge flying in certain parts of the world with the icing issues in MSFS.

Well, this is where calling for a de-ice crew would be nice. Maybe having a generic holdover time/timer set that prevents the ice model. Not sure if that’s in the game or not. If not, that should be a wishlist item.

I really like the idea!

I noticed the fact that your aircraft is completely iced over, while the neighboring one is contaminate free. Who did you ■■■■ off?
