Yeah, PC has a lot more options, but Xbox has an impressively consistent experience. Like it is ODD to encounter a stutter on the X. Really impressed with what they get out of that little machine. It punches above its weight.
But for helicopters it is not optimal. For planes it is quite good on a huge TV. There is just not any helicopter specific hardware available and there is no VR.
I have a whole Honeycomb setup on PC, and a cheap HOTAS on Xbox. This Huey works so well on the HOTAS. And the flight model never feels dumbed down. The helicopter from external view does things like Hueys do. They have a certain body language to their taxi, cruise, turns, and landings. And those sounds!
Well after mentioning this above about using the Helicopter controller settings instead of the default controller configurations and twisting the TM TCA joystick for rudder control I have concluded I really donāt like this and its a pain to use it that way, its either your over steering or understeering so to speak when trying to land. I just cant seem to get it right as the helicopter wants to turn on its own due to torque. I definately need rudder pedals to control the tail rotor for the Huey if Iām to use the helicopter settings. The Fi 206 doesnāt do this and Iām able to use the default controller settings, so Iām switching back and forth depending what I feel like flying on any given day. I donāt like it.
Lemme check something real quick. I think it might help you.
Make sure to have TAIL ROTOR AXIS checked in your settings for your twist grip instead of Tail Rotor Left and Tail Rotor Right. It is all you need.
I totally forgot about it when we talked before and I really think it controls 10X better than the default settings. Like, it made all the difference for me. It is how I can control these things with a stick. Before I changed that setting it was messy.
You may need a different controller profile and have to switch back and forth whenever flying the FlyInside 206. FlyInside still has the tail rotor control bound to the RUDDER AXIS in MSFS where most other helicopter addons have it bound to the TAIL ROTOR AXIS.
Just for protocol: all the flying in the video that I posted a while ago was done with a twist grip and no assists.
I donāt use rudder pedals. I tried some a while ago, but I couldnt find a satisfactory way to hold them in place without interfering when I didnāt want to use them. Theyāve been collecting dust ever since, along with the yoke and its unusable dead zone. Yupā¦ the Logitech combo.
I found it. Itās blank, when I scanned and tried to change it, it told me its already assignedā¦?
Ya, I need too. Iāve been apprehensive about playing with that stuff and have just used the default settings all along and I fly just fine. I knew one day I would have to venture into those settings, but Iām still apprehensive about it because it looks complicated. Iām too much of a plug nā play guy, You know set it and forget it etc. etc. If it aināt broke, donāt break it kind of thing. lol
Well, the way to fix your issues involves changing your settings and several people have been quite helpful in telling you how to do it. So if you review the posts in this thread, you really do have good instructions. Watch a video or two and duplicate your working profile so you have something that works as well as it works now before you change the other.
Other than that, I just can not overcome your fears or trepidation for you. The next steps really require you to configure settings to make helicopters work better, and there are SO many video tutorials already to help you see it being done.
You have to try before I can help you further. Helping you decide to try is above my pay grade.
Ya know I have no problem with offering the Series S as a budget option, especially as for most games particularly if someone doesnāt have a 4k TV itās a perfectly fine option.
It would make everyoneās lives better if on demanding games like this they either just enforced that it doesnāt meet the minimum requirements and/or gave devs a way to downscale for Series S
I changed my mind and bought it, great deal. The best sound ever and so nice model and options. One thing is missng though - civilian passangers visible in civilian versions. I just need this pinch of immersion when collecting my rafters along canyon from Victoria Falls
