I’m not able to taxi the plane in a correct way. The control is supposed to be the rudder, but the lack of graduality produces sudden and not mastering movements of the plane.
Advices are very welcome. Thanks
advice: sit tight & wait for an update
You could try altering the sensitivity on that axis
depends on the airplane. They each have their individual characteristics to get used to.
heavy aircraft need more power to pull away and then it needs to be reduced.
jet engines are less resposnive and there is a time delay for thrust reaction etc etc
just have to get used to it by practising really
Joystick sensitivity as standard as way too sensitive, needs to be adjusted to bea lot less sensitive
Taxi very slow and steady like in real life
take a look here:
I can only speak for the A320n:
- ~32% throttle to keep speed with both engines running; ~40% to get moving
- ~40% throttle to keep speed with one engine running; ~50% to get moving
Steering works quite good as rudder control also controls the nose wheel (which I personally would like to have seperately).
A relevant question. @TrashyDiamond55 Please confirm that you have the rudder “axis” and not a button bound to your rudder pedals. If you are using a button mapping instead, what you end up with is a full deflection either way, no matter how much input you give.
It depends on the plane. The X-Cub hates crosswinds and is impossible to see out of. It’s great fun to drive around with the “tail up”, though
.
True. Thank you. Good advice. The situation improved but… the problem is still there. I’m quite convinced that there is a general problem in the ‘realism’ involving the controls system.
What did you change in that case? Did you not have the axis assigned to rudder?
I assigned the rudder control to a bottom of the joystick with axis, and I reduced a lot the sensitivity. But, I repeat It is impossible to master the control in a correct way.
A lot of that will be down to the qualities of whatever that controller has.
I have no problems with my rudder pedals, for example. Using your feet will always feel better than your thumb.
Not always it’s possible. But any way, thank you for your suggestion.
