I made a night flight with the TBM-90 into icing conditions. When I turned on the ice light I could see the LH wing and the ice starting to form. However I could not see the RH ice light or the RH wing.
After the flight I spawned the TBM to a blacked out airfield and confirmed that the RH Ice Light is Inop.
I have reported the condition to Zendesk.
From the POH:
“Ice accumulation thickness is monitored by the pilot on the L.H. wing leading edge. At night, a leading edge icing inspection light located on the fuselage L.H. side, activated by the ”ICE LIGHT” switch, is provided.”
Okay. I can accept that. The reason I thought it was a bug was I believe the last time I flew it at night I was able to see a light on both wings. Makes sense to have it only on one side though.
