I’ve been having recurring issues with the TBM-930’s navigation system,
I usually program a flight plan into the FMS and follow it using the autopilot in NAV mode. However, whenever I try to make any changes mid-flight (like adding an arrival, approach, or even just setting up a direct-to)
the system seems to stop working properly.
Here’s what happens:
NAV mode stops following the route.
The active leg doesn’t update, even if I try to manually change it.
If I try to enter a DCT (direct to), it often can’t find any waypoints. And even if it does, the MFD stops displaying any route info.
I’ve tried deleting the flight plan and starting from scratch, but the FMS remains unresponsive.
Some additional context:
I’m using the latest AIRACs from Navigraph.
I also have this issue before takeoff when importing a SimBrief flight plan—none of the waypoints are recognized.
In the example I attached (screenshot), the issue occurred right after I entered the arrival. The autopilot is in NAV mode, but it no longer follows the route, and the active leg stays frozen.

Hi @Cheppas
Let me preface this with the fact that I’m in SU2b (ver xx.14), so not sure if this is an issue that’s been fixed, or there’s something else going on.
I’ve flown the 930 quite a bit even before the beta and have never had these issues but I set up a new IFR flight from KSAR to KATL with several waypoints, an arrival, and an ILS approach.
I mostly let it fly to the first waypoint, and then set up a direct-to an “off path” waypoint (one that wasn’t in the original flight plan) and let it fly there. See the screenshot. I don’t remember the G3000 showing “offroute d” indicator before this beta.
After it hit the inserted direct-to waypoint, I had to manually select the next “normal” (on the original flight plan) waypoint, and hit the direct-to button for it, and then it just continued the original flight plan. Later, I also tested by selecting one of the further away waypoints, and hitting the direct-to button for it, and it went to that waypoint, and then continued the normal route after passing the selected waypoint without manual interaction.
If you can provide any further specifics of your situation, I’ll try to recreate the specific flight/actions you took and see what happens.
But let’s hope this is something that’s now working correctly in the beta and will be resolved when SU2 is released.
