Does it cruise as well, un flyable.
Like in the first seconds(with the TBM) of this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCdWcygV8NA
Then it is a known bug. To be fixed who knows when. Maybe next year lol just joking.
I love the plane but extreme takeoff when im being smooth and jumping trim etc is terrible. Really feels like a puppet plane on a string.
I’ve been flying the TBM almost exclusively since the last patch because it’s the only plane that won’t have systems mysteriously switch on and off in flight. The only time I’ve seen it (or any other plane) bouncing up and down like that is when using FLC on the autopilot.
I hate to be that guy but I spent an hour with it yesterday and despite my best efforts I couldn’t get the AP to glitch. VS or FLC it climbed and descended just fine with no porpoising even while changing the throttle, followed nav just fine as well. The real question is why does it seem like some people have no issues and others do?
Yes, I have that issue as well but I don’t think it was as bad before patch. On a long flight, using Sim Rate to speed up makes it even worse…crazy altitude fluctuations… on any plane I’ve tried. Makes doing a long flight less flexible.

I think I just had this on the longitude, but I normally fly the tbm. but I’m quite familiar with the AP. just kept pitching up and down in a pattern on AP, but would hand fly fine. only difference this time i was showing actual wind outside (live weather) instead of a couple kts. I will have to fly with the tbm and see… ugh.
I may have had FLC on… Do you know if there is a bug with it? Because it should be on, or at least can be.
Tried another test flight… I can’t seem to fly above FL34 with AP no matter FLC or not. Just starts doing the the dolphin on AP. Ugh. Back to TBM, another month for jets.
erm the TBM in sim is only cert for FL310 ceiling
If youre using a mod that messes with the power of the engines ect it will cause issues with the AP unless the mod also adjusts the flightmodel to compensate. I had major AP issues with a mod that just tweaked the power outputs and the AP couldn’t deal with the added power and just kept bobbing everywhere. Removed the mod and it went back to working fine.
Just an FYI on my experience.
I know, I was trying out the cesenna longitude. I’m going back to the TBM to be max FL28 (sweet spot) until this new bug is fixed. my point is I think this may cross all planes. I hope I can still fly the TBM in the low 20’s.
Good point, I’m trying to avoid any mods during these “growing pains” and just do some liveries. It’s unstable enough you don’t want to add mods.
I haven’t been able to even use FLC. I can only do altitude changes with VS. And that can cause weirdnesses when switched on and off as well since latest patch.
I have been flying this plane 95% of the time since the sim came out. Two times I have had the following happen. Flying in external camera with autopilot on and put the sim on active pause for a few minutes to walk away. I only did active pause while auto pilot is on because I have been doing low level scenery flights from city to city and I didn’t want to miss anything while I stepped away for a few minutes. When I come back to take the sim off active pause, the plane shoots straight up into the air climbing at over 4,000fpm with the auto pilot still on. The trim shoots through the roof to above 60%. I have to turn off auto pilot and fix the trim to gain back control of the plane. Very crazy.
I never had any issues with AP on the tbm until the most recent patch.
Even when I put in altitude in the pre select window and then activate any type of vertical mode, the airplane will always default to 2200. This in turn causes the airplane to dive. It’s very perplexing. Not complaint just yet though…maybe tomorrow hahaha
Yeah now that live wind data is coming in for winds aloft (yeah!, i guess) MSFS2020 is completely busted. It’s like it’s not modeling air density. A 26 mph wind at FL18 acts like you are on the ground in a hurricane. it doesn’t even depict crabbing into the wind correctly. hope no one gets seasick with this motion.
Maybe Asobo needs to hire whomever programmed the AP for the Mooney from Carenado. After the update it’s flawless.
I’m always surprised they didn’t hire and court more people from the 3rd party market. But they also required french language skills on their job postings so they limited their talent pool.
