TBM Yoke Graphics Backwards

In the TBM 930, when I turn my yoke to the right, the yoke display in the cockpit shows a turn to the left and when I turn my yoke left, the cockpit yoke displays a right turn. The aircraft however still turns in the direction I’m actually turning. I’m using the Honeycomb Alpha.

Take a look at this thread,

I don’t have an issue with the throttle, the yoke is reversed. Not my actual hardware, but the graphical display in game.

Are you using the mod, if so, do you have the latest version?

No mods. I’m using the default TBM.

Try the mod and see if that cures the issue.
I use it and have no issues.
It’s quite a good mod, and fixes a lot of these things.
It may be worth a try.

I’ll try it. Is it called the Mugz mod?

Does this happen o my when Auopilot is engaged?

Auto pilot was engaged. I’ll try it without and see if there is a difference.

Yes, it is.

I made a post on this a few days ago (different aircraft) but it was only when AP was engaged.

The reasoning was Autopilot is correcting (opposite / equal reaction) to what you were doing until you fight it so hard AP disengages.

His is only graphical.

Yes, it is only occurring when AP is engaged. I must have never noticed it. Thank you for your help guys.

I have this issue and it’s driving me crazy. I use the HOTAS throttle. Went in the controls even tried unchecking the “reverse” box and still no luck

Yep, I’ve seen this issue with the TBM off and on for a long time, across may updates, possibly for more than a year. It comes and goes for me. Sometimes the yoke is animated in the correct direction for a flight (like just a day or two ago) and for other flights it’s animated in the opposite direction. Like you, it’s just the animation of the yoke; it doesn’t affect how the plane flies or which direction the plane banks.

I have yet to determine what circumstances cause it do this but it’s not autopilot for me. I sometimes use a Logitech G Saitek Pro yoke and sometimes a Logitech X52 Pro HOTAS but that doesn’t determine whether the yoke animation in the TBM turns in the correct direction or not. And it’s only ever happened in the TBM for me.

I recommend disconnect all Yokes and fly with only keyboard, only as test. Check if you have correct key bindings prior test flight. This shows probably where problem is.

I see this issue is continuing to happen with the TBM even with MSFS 2024 and with other controllers (VKB Gunfighter). Like today it started out fine, turning in the same direction as my flight stick input but then a few minutes later it switches to animating in the opposite direction. Control is maintained, it’s just that the yoke animates in the opposite direction.

Do you have the autopilot engaged ?. If so then it is the correct behavior as mentioned in the above post marked as the solution: TBM Yoke Graphics Backwards - #11 by skypilotYTS

Moved to User Support Hub since a solution has been marked by OP. If issue can be replicated without the A/P engaged feel free to create a new report.

Yeah, I’ve seen that discussion about it happening when autopilot is active in the TBM. I don’t think that is the only time I’ve seen it but trying to reproduce it now, I was only seeing it invert while autopilot is on and go back to normal with autopilot off. Since the TBM does re-engage autopilot automatically at times, I suppose it’s possible that is the only time it happens but I’d swear I’d seen it do it for extended periods with autopilot off.

Anyway, it doesn’t really matter as it still doesn’t make sense for it to animate the yoke to the inverse of your inputs just because autopilot is on. It’s not like the plane is ignoring your inputs (or the autopilot countering them) just because autopilot is engaged. You can see the plane is still responding to your inputs, it’s just that the yoke is drawn exactly opposite of whatever you’re doing. The autopilot is clearly not putting in opposite input and can’t correct your attitude until you release the controls. Just an animation bug but I’m surprised it’s still there. I suppose it’s more noticeable for us VR users since we can see the whole cockpit all the time.

Next time I fly the TBM I’ll pay attention to the yoke and report back if it can be reproduced.
