TCA Throttle Quadrant not correctly calibrated in WIN10 - pls help

Hi there,

my problem is different of any problems mentioned yet with the TCA Throttle in MSFS.

I have installed the throttle with all the drivers and Firmeware Updates of Thrustmaster. But in the WIN10 Gamecontroller setting I see a wrong behavior of the throttle:

Moving the throttle forward results in correct behavior to 50%. At 50% of the bar seeing in the Gamecontroller Setting the Throttle is nearly at FLX detend ( second white arrow ). So that is wrong. But after that moving the throttle to FLX results in 100% in the bar of the Gamecontroller Setting. There is no 51% to 99% available.

So I installed the same throttle to another Gaming PC. And surprise, it works correctly ! It is my PC, not a hardware problem.

But what could it be ? I deinstalled the Logitech/Saitek Throttle Software, which was installed before. I reinstalled also the Thrustmaster Driver and also the TARGET Software. But nothing new.

By the way: In MSFS after the new Update my throttle behaves in the new Default Profile different: At CLB Detend I have 0% throttle. Below CLB Detend is my reverse thrust !

Any help would be nice. Could it be a driver problem ? Any WIN10 problem ? How can I sort it out ?

For my Warthog HOTAS, TM appear to provide their own calibration utility, rather than using the windows calibration.

Is there not a calibration utility for the TCA?

There are special drivers and Gamecontroller Settings showing the work of the device. But no tools to calibrate. It s plug and play

So my description above refers to the Gamecontroller Settings of Thrustmaster in Win 10, not the default Gamecontroller Settings…

I think i have the same problem, it tries to calibrate like a normal flight stick, and it says to click a button when finished.. As the throttle has virtual buttons it just finishes once they are passed while moving the throttle. Basically it doesn’t work. Hopefully there is a solution or Thrustmaster will come up with a fix for this soon. I also notice that the virtual switches are not all at the correct places but this cannot be calibrated. , at least not with the thrustmaster provided software as of yet.

Also noticed that the throttle has like 90% thrust at the first indentation and the second two just give about 5% each, i doubt that is the way it should be.. Landing on low thrust i can barely touch the throttle or it will make a major change. This specific issue is probably more related to MSFS rather than Thrustmaster as in the calibration tool it at least looks linear.

Hi, do you have a solution for your problem yet?
I have the identical problem since many months. And it’s definitely not a hardware problem. The second TCA quadrant have the same behaviour and it works well with xplane - Thanks Uwe

I have contacted Thrustmaster Support and they had send me a solution. I have had to delete all drivers and Gamecontroller Settings. Then there was a Special way to calibrate the Controller and now everything is working. Contact Thrustmaster Support!

I had the same issue. I am not 100% sure if my issues has been resolved.

  1. Update to latest drivers.
  2. Update controllers to latest firmware.
  3. Calibrate: https://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/manuals/TCA_Quadrant/TCA_Quadrant-Throttle_Calibration.pdf

What was the fix for this? My left X throttle axis works (sort of) from 0-50% then goes to full throttle. The Y throttle axis goes to 100% the moment any kind of input is done.

No amount of calibration or recommended guides seems to fix it.

I tested on my other PC and its completely fine, so it’s got to be a PC issue.

Are there any registry settings I can remove to restore this to factory configuration on my PC?

Not sure what the exact fix was. I deleted the associated drivers the controller used out of windows\sys32. You can find these in device manager, right click on the device. I’d show you but for some reason it’s not showing up.

I uninstalled the Thrustmaster software as well and did recalibrate using the windows software.

I had a similar problem when trying to fix another Windows glitch last week. For me, the steering axis had no range, and the TCA sidestick went full left to full right with nothing in-between.

The only way to resolve the problem is to remove all the Thrustmaster software, which gives you access to the Windows Calibration App but with Windows 11 I found the windows Game Controller App doesn’t work very well, it glitches and jumps ahead of itself when trying to calibrate, it’s not very reassuring at all.

Anyway, I managed to calibrate the sidestick best I could. So now everything works OK in the FBW but then tonight I tried the Cessna 172 and it was a nightmare, pulling to the right taxiing, getting it into the air just luck, and all it wants to do is launch itself to the moon, totally uncontrollable.
I have different profiles for different aircraft and I have not modified them in any way so why does this keep happening?
The pulling to the right occurred last year after some updates, but we managed to fix that but it’s back.

There is a way to reset all the controls in Windows and the Sim but I can’t remember how it’s done.

Any ideas?
