Hi, I have my TM TCA throttle quadrant set up for the FBW A320neo. For this aircraft, I set the throttle quadrant in the flypad.
I now installed the Headwind A330-900 and my FBW A320 profile for the throttle quadrant does not work (the Flex and Climb detents do not line up).
I would like to create a separate profile for the A330, but I can’t find anything how to set up the throttles without using the flypad.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
You need to cycle back to the default profile for the TCA Quadrant. Then Duplicate that default profile and rename it to A330-900neo.
Then just leave the sensitivity curve as is from that new duplicated profile. And test it in the A330-900neo cockpit. You should have generally matching detents from that point. But you might need to do a slight adjustment to line them up. But these adjustments are only around 2-3% depending on the hardware itself and how well you factory calibrated the quadrant (not the FBW calibration).
Once you’re happy with the detents, you can start to adjust any extra or binding changes that you need. For example, if you don’t have the Spoiler/flaps addon attached, make sure you unbind them from the profile, etc.
Thanks NEO4316 for info. Your description worked out perfect. I didn’t have to adjust the sensitivity curves, as all the detents lined up rather well. Spoilers, Flaps, Gear and Rudder Trim on the TCA Addon also worked out of the box. Only the Autobrake switch does not work (it also does not work in the FBW A320neo).
Any suggestion on that?
Thanks again for help
Well, since the duplicated profile from the default is for A330-900neo, The autobrake switch “sometimes” work sometimes doesn’t depending on the condition. I think the A330-900neo uses an legacy code for the old FBW systems. I remember I had similar issue the first time I got my TCA Addon where even the FBW A32NX didn’t register the autobrake switches. They end up fixing it on subsequent Dev versions. Which actually still works for me.
As for your issue, I would assume your FBW A32NX profile is still the old profile? You might need to do the same process of deleting the old profile, Back to the default, and duplicate that profile into the new FBW A32NX profile. Just make sure you don’t touch the landing gear or autobrake binding.
Just test using that. If the autobrake switch work, then it works. For me it works, I can set Max on the ground, and I can set Lo or Med while in the air using the same switch.
Once you confirm it works, just open the Sensitivity curve again for the newly duplicated FBW A32NX profile, and adjust the sensitivity to become linear (0% on everything except Reactivity which should be 100%). This should restore your detent configuration properly on the A32NX.
Again NEO4316 thank you.
Worked perfect. Deleted the existing A320neo profile I had and copied the Default profile. I can now select the Autobrake Max on ground and Low or 2 (medium) in the air. All other functions work perfect as well.
Thanks alot for the prompt reply
