I have the same experience. It seem to use much more runway than stated in the documentation. The accelleration to rotation speeds takes many seconds longer that in the demo flight they showed on Youtube. I have made a ticket on Discord, but they are not convinced that there is something wrong. Still, I hope at least they will explain how it can be so slow.
Yes, I also noted there is no manual for this plane included. At least I can’t find it.
Also, it requires a lot of power to start moving on the ground which I find a bit weird too.
Manual is here.
Does any know how to change LPH to GPH in the fuel flow?
This aircraft is finally released on the marketplace and Xbox, and I’m really interested in it! Has anyone already purchased it on console? Any experience about how it works? Does the Mission Hub function as it should?
trying this in this moment.
had a brief flight from Bologna to Rimini (both 3d party airports).
Very good system simulation.
It seem to be a pretty heavy addon for XB SX: after takeoff from Bologna i noticed a progressive blurring of scenery textures wich means memory issues for sure (does not happen with other aircraft like PMDG 737).
In the middle of flight had sudden black screen, wich came back after 10 seconds (flight plan was lost after that)
every feature that could use RAM is off in my case (traffic, miltiplayers, IA airports vehicles and so on….).
G1000 map was set to MAX declutter (details set to 0) anf that was the first flight after MSFS loadup.
In conclusion: very good simulation of the p2012 in my opinion but definetly needs optimization in order to run smoothly on XB Seies X.
All the best
I saw a flight instructor do it on YouTube and he only released the brakes at about 80% power setting. I suppose its a FADEC quirck with these particular engines; as you hear it roar too somewhere half way the spool-up.
That doesn’t sound good, thanks for the info. Black screens are a deal breaker for me, no matter the aircraft. Especially at this price range. Are you in the Beta by any chance? Because it has more memory related issues than the public build.
so ok,
i flown right now the same route (Bologna - Rimini) with the same flighplan using the FSR500 (lite version optimized for consoles), wich uses the same avionic suite (G1000). Scenery textures were crisp during the whole flight, smooth FPS, no black screens. This cnfirms my suspicions on bad optimization for consoles.
This test, nevertheless, used a heavy 3d party airport for takeoff (Bologna). Maybe, using a lighter airport, it could work fine.
Garmin suite by WT is a major memory killer in my opinion. Every aircraft wich uses it should be coded with XB friendly “light” textures in order to avoid problems like BS or blurry scenery due to hard coded fixed FPS of MSFS on consoles.
no, using su14 for the test.
Does anybody found an original POH?
I can’t seem to start on the runway with engines running. And, I can’t start the engines on the runway.
EDIT: Okay, this is not functioning. It seems to only work on cold and dark starts. When I finally got the engines started by loading Ready to Start in the EFB, I could not perform a takeoff. It would not respond correctly to throttle or rudder inputs.
More: This module asks you to chose Easy Mode or Advance Mode. I can find no way to go from easy to advanced and back. Deleting and reinstalling the module did not correct this.
i come back to U after further 3 flights:
Palermo punta Raisi (LICJ - jetsream designs) - Lampedusa (LICD jetsream designs)
Lampedusa (LICD)- Malta (LMML - Justsim)
Forli’ (LIPK - South Oak) - Falconara (LIPY - South Oak)
the experience was smooth. No BS, no stutters, no FPS loss, minor blurring of textures in the distance here and there but nothing relevant in my opinion. All airports come from 3d party developers.
It seem that this addon can very well comply with XB hardware as long as it is used in “low memory demanding” areas/airports.
The first test was performed departing from Bologna area (photogrammetry on) with Guglielmo Marconi airport from MK-Studio installed: this is a hardware intensive location and maybe is too much for the p2012
all the best
Thank you, this is more encouraging. I don’t have any third-party airports (with the exception of my local Intl airport, but I wouldn’t use it with something like the Tecnam anyway), so I don’t think the default scenery would be that demanding, even with photogrammetry. Do you know if the Mission Hub works, or is it worth using at all? I would like the “mission system” that comes with this airplane, I just don’t know if it functions like how I envision it.
I recently started flying this and must say the flight model feels very good compared to other similar aircraft.
When fully loaded this plane will not float and if you cut power will fall like a brick, it even loses elevator authority as it should so no, you can’t just pull back and float it above the runway for a smooth landing.
After watching several real life videos I realized this plane lands quite briskly, it is designed for rough runways and short fields so even for the non-STOL version you operate it like a STOL plane, high energy and steep approaches are common then arrest the energy and let it plunk into the runway like a stone, the non-retractable landing gear has a reason, it is very sturdy.
It is probably not the best experience for the Cape Air passengers, anyone here has flown a 2012 with Cape Air as a passenger? How was the landing experience?
Kudos to FSS for what is a very good aircraft!
didn t try the “mission hub” yet, so i cannot comment on this
Update v1.0.8 available
Hi everyone,
the takeoff performance was one of the last standing items we wanted to fix. Here it is ![]()
Available now in Contrail and Aerosoft One.
Changelog
- Fixed incorrect hyperlinks in welcome popup
- Tuned takeoff performance & pitch behavior to better match tables
hope it will be submitted soon to Marketplace for Xbox users🙏🏻 (same thing for the p2006T analog update wich corrects the inverted needle of the GS receiver🙏🏻)
Yeah but usually takes weeks for them to release it…
