Anyone having trouble turning on the autopilot with this aircraft when flying in VR? For me the autopilot works fine when in 2D but as soon as I switch to VR the autopilot will no longer turn on. I just get a disconnect horn. YD works but not AP. Weird for sure. Never had it with any other plane.
Yes, I’m having a problem. I cannot get the autopilot to work. I do not fly VR, just 2D. I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it, but the AP just doesn’t work for me. The AP lights do not come on. What am I doing wrong?
Do you have any key bindings for autopilot master?
No, I do not.
look here:
Please excuse my ignorance, but does this mean that when I push the AP button, I also have to push the “1” key on my keyboard in order for the AP to work?
No. Those are the Simconnect events and variables. Some of the sim default ones cross correlate to the in sim control bindings but for all the others such as the ones that are listed in the custom Lvar column. You will need to use an external control app to use them. For basic on off control 1 is usually on with 0 being off. These such things cannot be controlled from a standard in sim binding.
I have some crazy flickering on the labels for alternate air and WoW.
Is there a fix in sight ? I’m using the latest version on XboxX
This plane is everything I don’t like in a plane, and yet I can’t stop flying it.
The G1000 is my least favorite avionic suite in flightsims, but here it somehow looks awesome and even the keypad works.
I hate having a creep-train of NPCs behind me, but here I really like them.
I had walk-arounds in planes in other sims before, so even the one in the Comanche was fun in the beginning, but now I’m kind of lukewarm about it. Here, I love doing it, before and after the flight, even if there is nothing to find, which normally would make it totally obsolete for me (just use the camera to really walk around, and don’t jump to a view).
The pristine plasticky black-white interior would be normally a total turn-off for me and is the reason why I didn’t buy the FSR yet, but here it somehow looks more utilitarian, nuanced, a little bit worn… love it. Madness.
FADEC planes, planes that have missing levers due to boring automation - why would I like to fly something with less fun included… But here the unique system with the prop is so awkward it’s almost fun again. Always forget to push it forward for landing.
The only thing I can never really understand is working breakers without any chance for them to pop. So much development effort for a niche masochistic movement of apparent self-harmers. But I’m not judging, might be fun to pop them for a family member that is flying and not paying attention I guess.
Also, best tie-downs in the sim.

Thanks!
I picked this up last week too (or the week before, can’t remember time flies!) and yeah I like it. Trying to get an all Italian
Top 10 as a separate hangar lol
I like it so far. Only criticism I would have is the engine sound is a bit droney/loopy in the cockpit at cruise without much to subtly break the repetition. And when applying power on the takeoff there is sometimes a weird sound sample that plays. Maybe I’m doing something wrong (no doubt) but it sounds well out of place.
I have compared it to real live videos, including the high quality long one provided by the devs in the online manual. 80% of the very strange engine noises seem to be accurate and unique to this plane.
But there are a couple of them that I have not heard in those videos, so they might be wrong ![]()
This is exactly how the FADEC engines sounds like in real life. D-ISLA from Alpen Air is flying here in Germany, so I can compare.
Really like this plane so far! Hope to have a flight over the alps in it one day.
So here is a puzzle:
I use spad.next with the p2012 and fly in VR.
When I fly with spad.next in 2D, the AP works fine.
When I fly in VR without spad.next, the AP works fine.
When I fly in VR with spad.next, the AP will not turn on.
Very interesting. And only occurs for me with the p2012.
I’m talking about some kind of winding down sound for a second just after applying power on take off initial roll from stand still. Is that what you mean? From my crusty memory it sounds a little like when Obi-Wan shuts down the power on those platforms in Star Wars.
I enjoyed this plane pretty much except a minor problem. I couldn’t remember if it was mentioned in the menu but is this plane capable of flying into known icing condiitons? I got my windshield entirely covered up and can’t find any switch to clear it
I must be missing something here?
Yes, it’s certified for FIKI. It has both a TKS spray button for the windshield (very tiny button and label), as well as a switch for windshield heating plus the emergency heating system. For me, it was doing “something”, but didn’t do longer tests yet ![]()
Thanks for the info! Maybe I got confused between this and the smaller P2006T? I didn’t find those switches in that one so I guess that’s my fault.
