Terrible headache with install path and the community folder

Hi all, I was trying to install clinks livery pack and 2020 wouldn’t let me copy files to where I thought the community folder should be. My install woes started as I initially used my xbox pc game pass to get the free install, I had some hassles with this when trying to move it to a fast ssd drive rather than by larger 4gb mechanical, so I bought the deluxe store version and installed / pointed it to the ssd (G:).

All seemed well except for the fact the game didn’t make its own directory and just dumped everything into the root, messy!

Anyway I gave up, uninstalled it and reinstalled again to G:, again no option to put it in it’s own dedicated folder, MS seems to think everyone has a massive C: drive… Anyway when I reinstalled I needed the update, again this points towards C: although it said 590 GB free which is the amount free on my G: drive where it appears to be updating but with the path showing a C:

I know I’m missing something obvious but the community drive is nowhere to be seen on my G: drive where the game is installed. I really don’t want to start putting large amounts of community files on C:

TIA

John

It’s the installation path for the packages that you want to off load since it’s 100+ GB. Create a folder on your G drive, I used FS2020. When the installation presents the path choice browse to your G drive folder and then hit the update button. This will put your packages their and the Community folder will be there too.

Thanks HeliBrewer, I’ll give it another go, seems to be installing fine now and I can see the community folder and the official one store folder and the package is being installed. Hopefully this will be the last full install!!
